This choice: Time passes, they keep growing more and more • Go Back...Chapter #30Time passes, they keep growing more and more by: Unknown Once everyone chilled out (well, actually Leorio was the only one who needed to calm down), they lend Killua some of Leorio's clothes and took him out to dinner.
In the restaurant, Leorio and Kurapika watched silently how the two teens devoured plate after plate, and didn't stop until they finished their 5th one.
"I know growing boys usually have great appetites, but I didn't expect something like this..." The chain hunter said to Leorio, who still looked troubled.
The next day Leorio made additional physical checks on both boys. It was obvious for him the kids where taller than him (his eye level was now on their nose), but he needed exact data.
Killua went first. He undressed and got on a scale which also had a height rod wearing nothing except his underwear (also lent by Leorio, but it was starting to look too tight for him).
The rod confirmed he was 198cm (6'6"), 5cm (2") taller than Leorio, and he weighed 95Kg (210Lbs), outweighing him with 10 extra kilos of muscle well distributed on his thick legs, arms and torso.
"That makes you like 2cm taller than Gon..." Leorio commented after looking over the data of Gon he took two days ago "A small different, like you had before this 'growth spurt' started."
"Are you sure? He seems as tall as me..."
He wasn't going to repeat the same test on him, but after Kil's commentary he measured him too, and got surprised how he had grown a little during those two days, matching up Killua's height and body mass.
"Gon is growing at a stable pace, more or like a centimeter (0.4") per day and he told me it began a month ago" He informed Kurapika hours later, worried about their results "Killua added a foot and a half in about two days and when he caught him up his growth slowed. All data suggest he's going to grow a cm/day too. It's so illogical... What kind of disease could cause two different boys to grow synchronized?"
"..." The androgynous hunter nodded.
"Aside their heights, they look healthy and in top form. There was no signs of health problems, but no one knows what could happen if they keep growing like this. An extra centimeter doesn't look much from one day to another. But if this kept going on it would make a whole foot in a month. 12 feet in a year. The increasing effort of his bigger bodies may damage their hearts, bones and organs..."
Kurapika was interested in their transformation, but he didn't share Leorio's concerns. After observing how much stronger and faster they had become, he desired the same thing for him. Even if that growth shortens his life, he was willing to pay that price to kill the trouple. And his young friends were the key for it...
While they were talking, Kill and his sister were in another room. He was about to ask her something...
"Nanika, I think we have grown enough. Please, stop our growths."
"Nay" She sentenced and immediately continued playing with her toys.
It was the first time she rejected a wish from his brother.
"But... Why not?"
" 'cause that would contradict the other wish. I couldn't do it until it's done."
That was a rule Killua wasn't aware of. Not even Kil could make her undo an underway wish.
"When... when is my enhancing wish going to finish?"
"You asked to be as big as Gon, brother... so when he stops growing, you will stop too."
"When is he going to stop?"
"Don't know."
"How could you not knowing? You're the one who granted!"
"You asked me to enhance him, but you didn't tell me how much. And after that he desired to keep growing, but he didn't say for so long. I can grant any request, but if you don't specify details, my power takes will fill the holes for its own. Like what I have to 'enhance' or what does 'looking up' actually means. "
"Then he... WE... could grow forever?" Kil was getting more and more uneasy.
"Nay. He didn't wished for eternal grow. I think it will stop after a while."
"And how long is 'a while' ?"
"Don't know. A week?" His big brother gave a sigh of relief after hearing that. "Or maybe 10 years?" That relief disappeared quickly.
Nanika noticed fast he wasn't happy about her doing.
"B-b-but brother, I thought you wanted to be really powerful! I granted your wish in secret because I wanted to make you happy. Did I mess... everything?"
She was about to start crying, but then his brother hugged her and comfort her.
"No, Nanika, you did it right. With this new strength I can protect us from our family and all the bad guys in the world. But I'm a little worried to become too big to fit in a house."
"Don't worry, brother! As soon as the first wish ends, you could wish to become small again!"
Although he might have to wait years for that.  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
