The walk was less quiet than they would like.
Their incredible heights caught the eyes of the pedestrians, who pointed to them, made comments and even took them photos more often than it is polite. But that didn't stop their plan: The scatterbrain Gon didn’t realized all that attention whereas Killua did but couldn't care less.
Their first stop was a clothing shop. It wasn't a really fun place to go, but they wanted to find more fitting clothes ASAP. The ones they were currently wearing were owned by Leorio, and although he was a very tall and buff at 6’4 (194cm) they had manage to outgrew them by a foot in height and several pounds in muscle... Unfortunately, in the Hunters World the people as tall as Leorio are a minority and the shop didn’t have clothes as big as their current ones, much less any bigger.
After that they went to a theme park. They tried a lot of games and eventually went to the roller-coaster. Killua stayed outside, keeping an eye on his sister while she was having fun in the ride, looking for any sign of danger, as the overprotective brother he was…
...but he also has to watch over his friend, who was sitting beside him, almost sobbing.
“Why do the roller-coasters have to have a MAXIMUM height too?? The last time was too short, now I’m too tall… I’ll never know how cool it is… *snif*”
Killua comforted him tapping his back. It was weird for the people in the park to see such a huge man crying on the floor, but Kil knew Gon well, and knew it doesn’t matter how big he had become, he was still a sweet innocent boy inside.
“What if we go for some milkshakes once my sister had returned? Would that make you feel better?”
“*sob* Maybe...”
“Killua!!” His sister shouted when she finally came back. “It was the funnest, coolest thing I have done, or will ever do! It’s the best roller-coaster in the world!”
After hearing his words, Gon started to cry again, kept doing it until he emptied three milkshakes cups. His white-haired friend was still with his first orange juice, and her sister was playing with her ball nearby after finishing hers.
“Another one, please.” Gon asked to the waiter with a smile in his face dirty with cocoa, a funny look.
“Tell me, Gon… Did I ruin everything with my wish? You would have ridden the roller if I hadn’t made Nanika expand you.”
“Oh… right.” He had already forgotten the role of his sister on his body changes. “That felt bad, but I’m not angry at you or her… it’s just a fairground ride.”
“But it’s not only that… buying clothes is going to be harder… travel by car, bus or plane too… you have already hit your head against doorframes three times today… we can’t stand up straight in some low room… look, we can’t fit our legs under this table.”
“Those are… a lot of things, but they’re just small inconveniences...”
“As we grow up, there will be more and bigger issues. Sooner or later we’ll be too big for everything.”
Gon became speechless.
“I thought we would have lots of time to fix this, growing a centimeter per day, but this morning we had a 25cm (10”) growth spurt. If it happens more times we’ll become freaks in no time, and it will be my fault.” His face saddened more as he talked.
“Don’t feel guilty for this. Maybe the growth will complicate our lives, but I don’t think it’s a bad thing. It restored my hunter skills and made me so powerful that I’m excited with the idea of becoming even stronger.”
“Even if you won’t be able to fit inside a house anymore?”
“Well, that would sucks, but I think I could bear it for a while… we would only have to wait for the growth to stop, and then ask Nanika to shrink us to a more comfortable height.”
“You make it look so easy… we don’t know when it would end...”
“A month, several years, I think it won’t matter much to me, if you stay with me in this.”
Killua couldn’t help blushing a little…
“With you, a growing curse would become a big, funny adventure!”
