The research team was slightly on edge, it was the defining moment of all their work. Things were behind schedule because the subject of their test, Hatake Kakashi, wasn't just late, he passed late 30 minutes ago.
About then, one of the team decided to vent their frustration "You would think a top Jounin could keep better time."
From behind them they heard the voice of the ninja in question "sorry, I was helping someone open pickle jar, then I realized there was a cat stuck in a tree."
"Wait, that doesn't make any sense." Kakashi just stared at him blankly, he never explained his reasons and he wasn't about to start.
"Never mind, can we just get on with this?"
"Sure, just run through what you have planned one more time."
"Fine, this is essentially the combination of two techniques, both of which I think you have seen before. The first is a chakra draining technique, except in this case we will be reversing it and sending the chakra in to you. In order for your body to be able to compensate for the added chakra, we have modified it to also transfer some of the body's base-strength and muscle tissue."
"Won't that be detrimental to you?"
"Not at this level, about 2%. Our chakra levels will be back to normal, and we will be able to rebuild the muscle tissue over time, so on our part there will be no long term repercussions. The second technique is the Hokage's strength technique, it will be applied before the transfer takes place. "
"Which accomplishes what?"
"For the purpose of your body, the drained strength is just that, so by inflating it with the Hokage's super strength, the boost to you will be much greater then it otherwise would be. Got it?"
"Hmm, no. But don't let that stop you."
".... well you heard him, everyone in to position and begin transfer technique."
"Oh, one last thing." Kakashi had the full attention of the research team as he leaned forward, and pulled up his headband to display the Sharingan eye. "Don't mess up."
For the first time since the silver haired Jounin had arrived, the research team got a small glimpse of the ninja behind the fierce reputation.
Two members of the team were in place in front of Kakashi and two behind. It was then someone should have realized a variable that no one had considered before: Kakashi's Sharingan . It was active and memorizing the technique, this had been expected, and part of the reason Kakashi had been chosen. But even though he wasn't using it to perform a genjutsu, there was still something, distracting if not mezmerizing about seeing it up close. To researchers, it was easy to get distracted by theories when you see something knew. Which is why they missed the cut-off point.
Kakashi was distracted by the actual procedure, and wouldn't know when they were supposed to stop anyways. The other two members of the team tried to get them to stop, but they were too lost in thought, and light headed from already going too far. So the unaffected pair did the only thing they could think of and went to grab the two that were continuing the procedure. Which only caused there to be something resembling a complete electrical circuit, and now the strength of all four members was being drained in to Kakashi, who still was too caught up in what was happening to him to pay any attention.
For Kakashi, it was easy to get lost in what he was feeling. At first there was just a twinge of pain as his body began to restructure itself, then the process of his muscles growing felt like the best workout of his life. He could feel as the building muscle pushed his arms outward his defined biceps become bigger then what you would ever see on a ninja, but not so big they would impair his range of motion. His body was taking a unique approach to maintaining it's efficient and increasing build. He was growing.
His original hight was 5 feet, 11 inches with an athletic build. Within the first minute of the transfer he was up to 6'6". His body kept pushing outwards as his traditional dark blue outfit was stretched to it's limits trying to hold him. At 6'8" the sleeves of his shirt were only covering his biceps. At 7' they began to tear. at 7'6" his pants were ripping along the seems. At 8feet his pants resembles shorts and his vest was beginning to feel the pressure. At 9 feet he sleeves were out of the way and his former pants were loosely held together cloth at mid thigh.
When he stopped growing at 10ft, there wasn't much left of Kakashi's cloths. As he became more aware of his surroundings he noticed two things: 1) the researchers all appeared to be passed out, and 2) his mask was gone. Clearly with this situation being unacceptable, Kakashi took what was left of his shirt and made a make shift mask out of it. Then he went to check on the researchers. They were all breathing, and their bodies showed the side effects of the draining process. Instead of an average to slim build there skin was very loose on their thin bodies. Kakashi guessed that approximately 50% of their strength had been drained in to him. They should survive, but unless the process was reversed, which would not be deemed too dangerous, Hatake Kakashi was stuck being at least twice the size of any other ninja in the village, and most of the known world.
On the bright side, he thought to himself, at least I should be strong enough to beat Akatsuki now.
