Soulmates

OK just bear with me on this. In this world every alien species has a "Soulmate". It's basically a species that they will partner with. When they partner with their soulmate they gain new benefits like being able to reproduce with one another and there societies became more prosperous, but if one species suffers so will the other... In the year 2016 on the planet Pellicius a race of anthros find the location of their Soulmates' home planet and send ambassadors to it. The planet is called "Earth" by the local population. It was supposed to be a simple meet-and-greet, but to the ambassadors' horror that have a "slight" size difference to their destined mates....
