You wake up from your weird dream and feel around for the covers; it seems that they are not there and you move onto your back to try and work out where they've gone. You are surprised to find that you are swamped in total darkness and yet there is warmth coming from your mattress and it feels fuzzy for some reason. A long low rumbling comes from around you and the 'mattress' shifts beneath you.
You're totally confused. That rumbling can't be thunder because it's too constant and too low to be nearby and it can't be an earthquale because it it sounds more like... like a growl.
Just then there is a horizon of light coming from behind you as you sit up and you suddenly feel yourself swept off your feet by a massive pillar that is as soft as the 'mattress' that you've woken up from. The next thing you know you are swamped in light and you have to give time to let your eyes adjust.
"Good morning, love." A voice comes from above you. It is affectionate, soft but, at the same time, humbling... as though you are being spoken to by a god. As your eyes get used to the light you find yourself looking up at your enormous, colossal, titanic canine...
