... shipment routes. Naturally, they'd raid shipment routes. Who wouldn't?
You examined the map carefully, paying particular notice to the archipelagos and continents joined by the dashed lines that had to represent trade routes. You looked as closely as you could at the political borders of each country on the map, each of them marked with a coloured rectangle - a national flag, perhaps? Suddenly, a brief glance caught your eye! Did one of the smaller countries have the image of a white, four-legged animal on there? Its body might have been long, its legs short. Was that a -?!
"Pay attention!" The captain's bellow and a dummy thrown at your nose made you lose your concentration.
By the time you recovered, the captain had already stowed the map away and was looking at you with his arms crossed as he gave his instructions.
"You will be accompanying us on our latest shipment raid!" the Captain proudly roared. At least, that was what you were able to translate from his babble after three attempts and four dummies thrown to the nose. "In an hour, a galley will be sailing past us, bearing cargo for the Royal Family of Panfatia. We will disable their ship with a volley. You will be part of the boarding party, and your job will be to subdue and capture all supplies" - supplies, of course, being candy, cookies and barrels of milk - "and crewmen" - the crewmen being babies, presumably - "that you see. Your huge size will scare them into submission! And you will be paired up, so you don't get lost!"
You sighed to yourself. By the time you had finally managed to make heads and tails of what the belligerent baby was bawling about, a crewman waddled in.
"Sir, the cargo is within our sights!" Was that what she had said?
You could feel your heart racing. Already the plans would be put into action. You had moments to decide. You could partake in the raid and gain the captain's favour. You could even find the thieving white fox on this Panfatian vessel. Alternatively, you could try to steal the map and take a lifeboat.
