Lisa sat on her bed, thinking about what kinds of superpowers she should give herself. Her thoughts kept coming back to a dream she occasionally had where she was super-strong, a pumped-up pint-size powerhouse who ran around punching out criminals and lifting national monuments with only one hand. The idea of possessing such strength in real life tickled her fancy. She was always being mocked for her intelligence, but who'd dare mess with a girl who could hurl you into space? She opened the magic book and wrote: "I wish I had superhuman strength."
The magic went into effect the instant Lisa dotted the period. A rush of energy raced throughout her entire body. Grinning from ear to ear, Lisa flexed an arm and felt the power flowing through it. To her mild surprise, the flex also brought a slight bicep to the surface. The surprise she felt became considerably less mild when the bicep, along with the other muscles in her arm, began to rapidly expand! Her other arm followed suit, inflating with massive amounts of muscle. Her pectorals — Great Buddha, I have PECS!, Lisa thought in astonishment — expanded as well.
The growth process finished in less than a minute. Wanting to get a better look at her new self, Lisa hopped off the bed and headed for the mirror hanging on her closet door. Her eyes went wide at the sight of her reflection: She was immense! Her upper body was about three times as wide as before, with colossal arms that tapered down to the same little hands she always had. Even though she hadn't grown a single inch, she would most definitely describe herself as huge. She was even bigger than she was in her dream!
Upon further observation, Lisa noted that despite the inhuman amount of muscle she now possessed, it wasn't the kind of hard, ripped muscle like her mother had had during her brief bodybuilding stint. The usual bulges of deltoids and biceps were clearly visible, but the bulges were gentle and smooth. Lisa smiled and flexed her cannonball-sized biceps. "Not bad at all," she said aloud, pleased. A loud rip suddenly brought her attention to the fact that her dress was not designed to handle such musculature. Turning partway around, she saw in the mirror that a large tear reached halfway down her broad back.
Lisa groaned. She wanted to go out and test her strength, but not at the expense of public decency laws. She needed a change in wardrobe...
