The Ioka Tribe thrived under Ayla's leadership. While her command was mostly respected due to her great strength, a nice fringe benefit is that, especially by cave person standards, she was a wise and intelligent leader.
While violent run-in's with the Reptites were common, whenever another human tribe was encountered, things always went swimmingly. In fact, some smaller tribes were so impressed by the size, strength, and traditions of the Ioka Tribe, that they voluntarily chose to join it. With each tribe united with the Ioka, the tribe's strength and stability grew. Ayla's pride in herself and her people ALSO grew.
The tribe often stayed on the move, creating new, temporary villages whenever they found a promising site. But reptites, dinosaurs, and just plain old-fashioned food limitations meant that they often had to stay on the move. But Ayla's tracking instincts, paired with her hunches, always lead them to a new home, and all the many tribe members could rest easy knowing that food, though scarce, would always turn up.
But one day, Ayla sniffed a delicious scent on the wind, and lead her tribe off their course,and deep into an immense cleft in a cliff wall. And there, on the other side...paradise.
There were plains, rich with massive, slow, wonderfully edible herbivorous dinosaurs. The ground was covered in a carpet of delicious roots. And pocketed all over the place were small forests, teeming with more edible li'l critters, and ripe, juicy fruit of every description.
After paying a two-second long prayer of thanks to their gods, the whole tribe began to fan out and snatch up as much food as they could. The vibrant, fertile land seemed to stretch out forever, and there were no reptites or carnivores to be seen.
But, just as Ayla was about to chase a brachiosaurus down and beat it to death with her bare hands for dinner, three strangers, dressed in bright bird plumage, appeared, and address the Ioka.
"Who is leader of your tribe?"
"Ayla is leader." Ayla explained eloquently indicating herself.
"Okay. Not anymore. Ruun is now leader of your tribe. Just letting you know. Thank you. Have nice day."
"WHAT!?" Ayla roared.
"This is land of plenty. All of you welcome to stay. But any who live here follow Ruun."
"Who is Ruun?"
"She is the goddess, the ruler of paradise."
"Ayla want speak to this...Ruun."
"Of course. Ruun welcomes all new followers happily."
"AYLA IS NOT FOLLOWER. Take Ayla to Ruun."
"Follow us."
The strangers lead Ayla to one of the woodlands scattered across the plain. But Ayla was surprised to find that after only a minute spent under the shadow of trees, they came to a clearing. And resting in the middle of the vast clearing...was Ruun. And she was...
