They lost to Malos, who went on to destroy the world. But not before sending Rex off the World Tree and falling to the Cloud Sea below. But even though he was alone in his descent, he wasn’t lonely. He felt them: Pyra, Mythra, and even Nia. They were with him. He would find a way back to stop Malos, properly this time. He would even make good on his promise to Nia, to show his love for the three of them, as well as a few of the other Blades he’d met along the way. He wasn’t fickle or anything, he just genuinely cared about them.
He then felt a column of light surround him, and his disappeared from the world.
