The scent was that of a human, about average build with shaggy brown hair. It seams he hadn't spotted the dragon yet as he was undressing in the supposed privacy he had near the lake shore. As he readied to submerse himself in the crisp cool water he'd suddenly stop when one of his rope snares went off, not even dressed yet he'd grab a stick and go to investigate.
