Before Natalie could take that bite that would have ended Jack, the kitchen door opened and in came her mother. Her mother, Teresa, had noticed that her daughter had been acting differently since she had got home from school and later heard what she was saying to Jack. "Put that sandwich down," Teresa shouted. Natalie frowned and reluctently did as she was told. Teresa took her into the living room. Jack heard them arguing, but couldn't make out what they were saying. Soon after Teresa came back into the kitchen with a t-shirt and shorts in hand and sat them on the table. Jack was nervous and didn't know if this was good or bad. He soon found out that it was good.
Teresa pulled him out of the sandwich, washed him off in the sink, and grew him back to his normal size. He put the clothes on that she had put on the table. "I'm sorry you had to go through that Jack," Teresa said, "I'll take you home now." She drove Jack home. While in the car, she explained that she tries to teach her kids that they are only to eat people that hurt or wrong them. "I have seen how you act towards my daughter, during the times you had been over to study, and when we have bumped into you at them mall," She said, "You would never do anything to hurt her. She just hasn't learned that it isn't right to eat innocent people." It wasn't long before they reached his house. He got out and before he closed the car door Teresa had one last thing to say, "I only say this to protect you, please don't go near my daughter. I might not be around next time to save you. Oh, and keep the clothes for your trouble." Jack promised not to go near Natalie, besides he didn't want to get eaten anyway.
Jack walked down the walkway to the front door of his home as he heard Teresa drive away. He got to the door, but before he could open it, he felt light headed and blacked out. When he woke up, he realised he had been shrunk again.
