*Here I am. First of all sorry guys! I've been away due to many things… First because of my stupid PC, who failed me! I took it back just a weak ago and hadn't time to log! I've been also busy with some projects on DeviantArt, personal issues and very serious health problems… I didn't check the mails yet but I respond you this way. Soon I will take again my writing.com projects and your requests, don't worry, I don't leave you! So… Lets start from where I left off… with this Comic Book thing…*

Here he was, just resting in his ''private office''. Taking a seat in a cavern wasn't so comfortable, but he didn't care. Bruce Wayne knew that if he would have slept inside his soft bed at his manor or inside one of his roomy penthouse, he would be a dead man. Not that this man was so full of lifeblood. The BatMan's eyes were firmly looked on the luminous object placed on his flinty desk. The light almost killed his sight, cause he was a product of the darkness.
And when you start getting used to that feeling, well, you could never hope to appreciate the sun again. His hacking systems were on 24/7 and he desperately looked for updates over and over again. Updates on a war which was ruling this entire world. Bruce Wayne faced many enemies during his chronicles, but he never faced something like that. Something so deadly, so dangerous. Because this time he wasn't facing a specific form of enemy or the routinist crazy guy who managed to escape from the Asylum… He was facing death.

One-hundred. Two-hundred. Three-hundred. Four-hundred and sixty eight. Five hundred and counting. Death and victims. The number on that screen kept going, to the point of no return.
The feeling of impotence totally trapped him in a sanguinary embrace. Every time a number was added to that cipher, a name would pop up. One more life broken. One more existence erased from the universe. He was failing them. He was failing his duties. He was failing his parents. And he was giving up on himself. Many times Bruce Wayne actually forgot that he was an human being too. But no matter what his limits were. Batman couldn't have limits.
If the Dark Knight would have limits, the whole world would be in a dangerous position. But wasn't the universe already in jeopardy? Probably he ignored his deepest weaknesses too much. And this was just the result of his stubbornness. Was Alfred right?

The Dark Knight slowly raised his arms, touching his own mask with his gloved hands. With no haste he reached to it's core and deliberately removed it, almost in a vicious and desperate manner. As the mask landed on the floor, he stood up; looking at that vessel of justice he felt some sort of astonishment. It was like as if that Dark Knight mask had it's own life, it's own identity.
But what about him? What about Bruce Wayne? By now he didn't even knew who he really was! People used to call it's persona a superhero… But superheroes are supposed to succeed, superheroes are supposed to let justice flow into the world… And most of all, superheroes are supposed to keep people safe. He wasn't doing all this stuff at the moment. Bruce Wayne just tried pathetic attempts. As he walked left to right and right to left, he approached a wet rock, caused by a water dripping. Looking down he could mirror his image into his blue eyes.
There was no dark night, just the reflection of a very very sad man with no purpose in this world.

Lets be honest… He has never been a superhero. Yes, he fought for noble aims, but he always had his own ways. The Dark Knight was a vigilant, a silent form of payback. He was the Bat waiting for the enemy into the shadow. He was the son of a rotten society. And he didn't act for glory or savings.
He acted encouraged by vengeance. He needed vengeance since that sorry day. People said he was a good guy. But not. He knew he wasn't. He was just a ''consequence''. Consequence of crime. He was the ultimate punishment. The Dark Knight was much more dark than people thought. Many times the so called Batman thought about the status of his mind. Was he mad? Yes, probably he was.

But they say he was the ''person'' Gotham needed. That he was a prideful lord of equity. An uncorrupted force with no law or creed. But they just saw the romantic side of the fairy tail. He saw reality. He was probably crazy but he did. And he didn't like what he saw. He saw a corrupted world. He saw a distorted society. He saw a dirty place filled by worms and snakes. He saw something builded on triumphs, wins, losses. He saw an instrument of chaos. He saw something that turned him on a merciless path. But that was ok.
The Dark Knight knew he wasn't going to be a saint or a venerable figure. He was just a punisher, a regulation. And yes, he had just one regulation. A regulation that he many times tried to overcome or break. Cause he couldn't deny this… Sometimes he wished to kill certain people. So what made him different compared to those crazy ''villains''? With these thoughts on his mind, he kept looking at that figure in the water…

Suddenly the main screen on the desk lighted up. Bruce Wayne's eyes quickly drove their attention on the monitors. It was a massage coming from…Alfred. It had to be something important since he clearly told him to leave him be for the moment. He clicked the push-button of the keyboard and a new screen popped up. The figure of an old man took the main portion of the monitor. Even from a virtual view Wayne could tell that Alfred was sweating very hard. Something was happened.

''Master Bruce…Master Bruce! It's terrible! It's terrible! Master Bruce…''
Alfred's voice was fighting with his own emotions. His mouth was clearly dry because the old butler encountered many difficulties in his attempt of talking.

''Calm down Alfred. Calm down and then tell me what happened. I hear you.''
Bruce Wayne tried to seem as reassuring as possible, but he knew that he wasn't so good about those kind of things. However he felt a sense of anxiety growing inside him.

''Richard…My…My nephew…He…'' Alfred tried to explain what happened, but he begun to cry. This was too much for him.

''What? You have a nephew? You never told me…However, please, tell me. I cannot help you if you don't explain to me what happened.'' Even if it seemed a desperate situation, The Dark Knight tried to not lose his coolness.

''I never told you cause I didn't think it was so important for you…However y-yes… I have a nephew. His name his Richard… He is only 20 years old. And he… he…''

''He?''

''He has been kidnapped…Kidnapped by…Her…''

''Her?''

''He has been kidnapped by…Poison Ivy.''

That was truly a bad news. A very bad news. But how could he be surprise? The only thing that surprised him was that Alfred had a nephew. Istantly, without thinking, he realized the reason beyond this sneaky act. It was a clearly provocation in order to take him down. No matter how he acted, no matter what he did or not…
Danger always found a way to torture the people around him. People who cared about him. With an increasing guilty sense, he closed his eyes. A few seconds later, he asked…

''What makes you think that he has been caught?'' He asked, trying to be as rational as he could. The old man dried his tears with the sleeve of his smoking.

''They… They sent me a videotape… Here you go…''
