"Alice" Harold replied.
"I like that name," Guinevere said. Suddenly Alice began crying. "She must be hungry," she said taking the child from Jeffery. Harold went and brought out a bowl and put some milk in it. Carefully, Guinevere spoon fed the milk to Alice. After a few minutes, she calmed down and slept. "She looks like she has your nose," Guinevere said to her husband. Harold walked over and again stroked Alice's head.
"Welcome to the family," he said.
--------------------------------------------------
Many years had passed since that fated night. Alice was now an energetic twelve year old. When she was old enough to understand, she was told how her family came to find her. While she was sad, it didn't stop her from running around and enjoying life. They had also realized that their mere thoughts could transform her, as they found out one eventful night.
---------------------------------------------------------------
It was a few weeks after they took Alice in, one evening she was being difficult to put to bed. For the most part, she had remained in a half-dragon half-human state. Harold was trying everything he could think of, but kept coming back to how Alice was acting like a real dragon. As he thought this, he saw her face mutate into a dragon's head. Her scales coated her entire body and grew hard. Her hands had become claws and scratched Harold's arm. He knew he wasn't dreaming,
"Guinevere," he called, "There's something you need to see." Guinevere entered and saw her daughter sitting on the table looking like a normal dragon.
"What did you do?" Guinevere screeched at her husband.
"Nothing, just thought how she was be having, she was acting like a. . . real . . . .drag . . .on," Harold said, "You think that might be it?"
"I don't know," Guinevere said, walking up to Alice. She hadn't realized the change in her body and held out her hands wanting to be held. Guinevere picked her up and thought how Alice was a normal little girl, not a dragon, but a normal little girl, her daughter. Harold also thought those thoughts. Soon, Alice was human, and for the first time, completely human.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Due to her heritage, Alice was naturally strong and resilient, even in human form. Farm work was no trouble for her. Jeffery, now a young seventeen year old, had no complaints on that. He and Alice were the best of friends. He was also able to help keep her secret from the world.
Elsewhere in the world, Bowhan had never returned to that farm. In a small village home he bought with the rewards of his last kill, the kill he made before having sex with the monster, he retired from monster hunting. He was racked with guilt over his abandoning his child. He didn't even know if it was a boy or girl. Every once in a while, he would see that woman again, smiling a sadistic smile at him, knowing how she had destroyed him.
But Alice's mother was now on a quest, as her daughter's time to join her was coming, she now looked high and low over the villages for her child, but couldn't find her.
