Chapter #7Who started the fire? by: who-me Matthew walked around the field of vegetables. "I love walks at dawn," he thought. He looked back at the Stevens' house. As a farmhand, his pay wasn't much. But being taken in was kindness enough. He usually traveled around, doing seasonal work. It was a hard life, but he enjoyed it. As he examined some of the crops, he started to scratch an itch on his left hand. "Uh oh," he thought. For what ever reason, his hand only itched when something bad was going to happen. He began looking around for any storm that might be coming.

Aurora looked down and saw a large farm. It was vast with several barns on it and at least three different crops growing. "Such a nice place," she thought, flying down, "It will look even better in flames!" She began to encase her body in flames as she headed straight for the side house.

Matthew looked up and saw a giant fireball come down and strike where he slept. "Oh my God!" he thought, racing to it. Farmer Stevens and his sons rand out and saw the destruction as the flames started to spread.
"My farm!" Stevens yelled. From the rubble of the house, walked a nude beautiful winged young girl. She walked towards the farmer and Matthew watched as she aged slowly, becoming a teenager. She was still shorter than the farmer, but reached up to choke him and lifted him from the ground. She laughed as she lit him on fire. His sons, embroiled by anger, attacked her. One was lucky enough to actually damage her wing before she killed him too.
As all this happened, Matthew couldn't help but think, "She's the most beautiful being I've ever seen." He was so enamored, he failed to realize the entire farm was a blaze.

Aurora enjoyed killing the three weak men. After she was done, her gaze turned to the only person still alive. She stared him in the eyes and felt disturbed by his gaze. "What's he looking at? Planning on how to kill me?" she thought, "No, I don't think it's that. It's something else. Why is my heart racing now when it didn't before?" She slowly walked towards him. As she did, she grew back to her twenty foot self.

Matthew stared into this woman's eyes as she looked at him. He didn't know who she was, where she came from and couldn't care if she did just kill three innocent men. He felt his heart race as she approached. He continued eye contact, even as she grew taller and taller. When she stood five feet from him, she bent down.
"Hi," was all Matthew could say. Aurora was not liking this gaze at all. It made her feel queasy.
"Why aren't you scared of me?" Aurora asked. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
