Soon the two came to the Painted Lady. Gwen entered first and was greeted by the hostess, April.
"Oh hi Gwen," April said, "How are you. You're usual table?"
"Yes please and make sure there are two chairs," Gwen said. April saw Peter next to Gwen and smiled.
"Of course honey," April said and they followed her back to a back table, out of the way from everyone.
"This is your normal table?" Peter asked, sitting down.
"Yeah, I don't mind sitting alone. Besides, from here, I can see what's going on in the place," Gwen replied. She put her goods next to her chair.
"In case 'he' shows up?" Peter asked.
"Yeah," Gwen said, with irritation in her voice. "By the way, Peter, thank you for coming out with me," Gwen said. Peter blushed.
"Y-your welcome," Peter replied, as their tea arrived.
"So, why did you ask me out? Not that I'm complaining," Gwen said.
"Because you're beautiful," Peter said.
"So, I'm a trophy to you?" Gwen asked.
"No, no no," Peter started and almost stood up.
"Peter please," Gwen said, "If you're going to be with me, you need to loosen up." Gwen giggled again as Peter sat down.
"Sorry," Peter said, "So, um what's it like being Fionn's daughter?"
"Usual parenting stuff I'd imagine," Gwen said.
"But he is a mage, I mean, right?" Peter asked.
"He can do a few parlor tricks," Gwen said. "But in the end, whether he wakes me by summoning rain or by throwing a bucket on me, he still wakes me with water, right?" Peter looked at Gwen. "That was a joke," Gwen added.
"Oh right," Peter said, laughing. It was then the atmosphere became much lighter around them. April smiled as she saw te two getting along.
