Stacy suddenly loses her hearing

Stacy stood there in front of Amanda watching her lips move yet not really hearing anything.

"I can't hear anything you're saying," she replied, barely able to hear her own voice.

The next thing she knew she felt an object inside each ear.

"Is that better?" Amanda asked.

"Much better dear, thank you much. I suppose that was the first part of it?"

"That is right, and now for my second act...
