They arrive at their destination as planned.

It was only a few minutes before the smoothie shop came back into view. However, Samus’s ordeal would not be over so quickly. She and her new companion (Meta Knight, in case you somehow forgot between chapters) were greeted by a locked door and a sign reading, ‘CLOSED – Back in a few minutes’.

Samus narrowed her eyes at the use of the words ‘a few’. Those were words that got used when the speaker didn’t want to commit to a specific time period, which only boded ill for her. “A few minutes” could be five or thirty.

Meta Knight seemed unfazed, however. “This is unfortunate, to be sure,” he said, “but only a minor setback. Clearly we need only wait…”

“I don’t want to wait,” said Samus. “I want my smoothie! I’d have one already if… outside circumstances hadn’t intervened once already. I don’t want to have to wait for who knows how long for this place to open up again! I say we find another place.”

“Consider reason, comrade. Can we be certain of the existence of another such shop in this immediate area? And in the time it may take to seek one out, regardless of the fruits of this search, surely this one will have already reopened its doors. I see no benefit in leaving this spot.”
