Mr Moore began class with a few minutes lecturing on chemistry. Kristi tried to stay awake. She deducted that chemistry would come in handy someday in her lifetime. She took notes carefully but did want to compare notes with someone smarter. She wanted to be sure that she wrote down the information correctly.
Suddenly Mr. Moore announced that it was time for lab work. But he will assign lab partners. Most of the class moaned. But Kristi kept quiet. Mr. Moore went down the list of student but Kristi's name was not called out yet. There were two students left. There was a Dilton Doiley, the very intelligent nerd and Andy Armstrong, Backup Safety on the school's football team. But Kristi was not sure if he was a jerk, semi-jerk, or whatever he was. She did hope to have Dilton as her lab partner since he was somewhat nice to her.
Then Kristi heard her name being called out next. Mr. Moore said to her " Your Lab partner is going to be .."
