Having no windows on the door or anywhere else in the room apart from the one facing outside was lucky for Samantha and the doctor, especially since the patient was a mermaid, a mythical being that wasn't supposed to exist. Sean panicked, looking over his patient who was struggling to stay seated as her fins thumped on the floor. "No, please..." she mouthed, pleading to her friend without saying a word. He tried to keep his composure so the person would not barge in and putting her life in danger. "Um...just a moment please!" he called to the figure behind the door. Then he knelt down to the tail. Whispering he asked, "Ahh, how do you hide this...stop kicking!"
With the same volume, Samantha interrupted. "Excuse me! I can't help it. You'll have to carry me" Looking around, she found the perfect solution. "Put me on the bed and close the curtain, quick!"
The doctor followed her instruction and carrying the mermaid in his arms. With a tail at that size, it was no wonder why she was so heavy, and heavier than her human form. Sean was able but he was struggling, eventually placing Samantha on the bed. "Phew..." The out of breath doctor managed to close the curtain and place a blanket over the patients lower half before calling the person inside. It was a nurse who had just started the job last month taking paperwork to Sean. One look inside and she saw a woman's silhouette through the curtain. "Ahh, excellent, thank you Becky, you can leave it on the chair" Sean requested.
Samantha tried her hardest to stay still, but her tail would not cooperate as it flailed around. Eventually it knocked over some objects next to the bed. "Oh, oh god!" The fins flew from under the covers so she had no choice but she had to sit up and hold her fins down. The sudden movement caused the jagged fin on her back to tear through the blouse. Sean tried to get Becky to leave. It may have looked strange from the other side but the assistant left soon after wondering what was going on.
Sean returned to the bed. "That was too close!"
"I know..." Samantha flops her tail to the side of the bed and sighs. "Is there anything you can do to reverse this change? I can't keep turning into a mermaid!"
