Chapter #66Preparing for the College Life by: rugal b. "So yeah, I've decided: no high school," you state as you stand outside of Rick's car in the street in front of Blackwell's villa, "The university it is."
Joe looks a bit crestfallen at that, "Man, really? Eastman would've been a trip to run," he states, "So many babes there! There's this one, Maddy; she's got boobs like... like whoa!"
"That's nice and all, but no," you state more firmly.
"And just think of what you could do at Westside," Joe continues, "You could have Gordon under you control. Chelsea under your control. You could become Mansfield and have Lisa for yourself. You could become some other guy and steal her from him." He then gives you a mischievous look, "Or you could just become Lisa yourself."
That thought does give you a momentary pause. The thought of plunging your cock into Lisa gets you excited. The thought of Lisa's body being your body is tantalizing. But in the end it passes and you shake your head. "Look, I've decided alright? Keyserling it is," you then begin ticking off the benefits on your fingers, "One, Blackwell's villa's a good base for us; large, out of the way, filled with all the material we'll need. Two, having Blackwell's mind helping us would be a huge boon."
"That's all well and good, man, but... high school," Joe says a bit desperately.
You roll your eyes at that and continue, "And three," this time it's your turn to give a mischievous smile towards him, "co-eds and frat parties."
Joe's eyes go wide, "Of course! A bunch of sorority sisters having a good time. Truly we live in a beautiful country," Joe says with mock patriotism as he jokingly begins humming the Star-Spangled Banner.
"Pipsqueak's making the right choice," Rick says motioning towards you, "Besides, Keyserling's a place you guys might want to look into in the future. It's a place that gives me a bad feeling so if you're looking to grow as magicians and take on the Stellae..."
You nod and then clap Joe on the back, "So it's decided then: we're gonna be college students," you then turn to Rick, "I guess we'll see you later on. You're going to have to get that pile of junk back to Cuthbert."
"This 'pile of junk' has been through a lot. Had some good times and a whole lotta bad ones," he replies.
The sentimentality surprises you until you realize that he's referring as much to himself as he is to his car, "I'm really sorry, Rick," you state, "I wish it didn't have to come to this."
Rick, for his part, just gives a shrug before putting the car into gear and driving off.

"Yo prof! You home," Joe calls out as the three of you burt through Blackwell's front doors and into the foyer.
"Heavens," Blackwell exclaims as he enters from the living room, "I was wondering where you were. I was worried sick!"
"Prof, you've gotta stop lying," Joe says, clapping Blackwell on the shoulder as he walks by, "you're no good at it."
"You're going to be seeing a lot more of us anyway," you add as the four of you walk towards the living room, "We're going to into Keyserling and we're and we're going to need a place to do all of our research, store our stuff, perform our too spooky hocus pocus..."
"He's saying we're going to be using this place as our base," Frank states.
"Yes, yes I had gotten the implication," Blackwell replies rather dryly.
"That's not going to be a problem, is it," you ask turning to look at him.
Blackwell stiffens and you think that he probably wants to say something but know that at this point he knows he really doesn't have much of a say in the matter. So he shakes his head. "No," he mutters, "there will not be any problem."
"Good," you reply simply, "So then let me ask you: we have something we're going to be working on. Something big and loud. Which would be the better set up for it, the workroom or the basement?"
Blackwell gives it a moment of thought, "The basement most likely. It is larger, no clutter and any noise would probably not escape as much."
"You see that? He's already paying dividends," you say to Joe with a smug smile that he dismisses with a wave of his hand, "Anyway we're going to need some equipment. You got a phone?"
Joe reaches into his pocket and pulls out a cell phone, "Still here, thankfully."
"Good, call up Straussler and tell him to drop by," you tell him, "The two of you are going to go out and get some of the stuff we need."
"Stuff like what," Joe asks.
"A sheet of steel to act as our little magical operating table," you explain, "Some tools too."
"How do you know Straussler's still going to be Joe's control after what happened," Frank asks, eying you skeptically.
You just shrug in response, "Only way to know is by trying," you state.
Both brothers look at you for a moment but then Joe breaks into a wide grin, "Look at you," he exclaims, "Didn't think you'd ever actually sac up."
You flip him off and he laughs before calling up Straussler. After a brief conversation Joe confirms that Straussler is still under his control and gives you a thumbs up. It's not long before Straussler makes his way over and then him and Joe are off to get the needed supplies.

You sigh as you plop down onto the couch in the living room. You're still waiting for Rick, as well as Joe and Jonathan, to come back. "Fuck," his the only thing you can say. This causes Frank to eye you, "Nothing, it's just this is the first time in a long time I've really had to rest. Not since those Hills Have Eyes rejects took me."
Frank raises an eyebrow, "Weren't those people still your family," he asks.
You wave off his concerns, "Distant family. I always hated having to go up there and actually spending all that time there," you shudder, "No, I'm not going to miss any of it. That place was fucked up. To be honest it's an abomination. You've got my anima in you though, you should know all this."
Frank seems to ignore that however. "Even still, it did help give you the knowledge for what we're going to be doing going for," he states, "The separation of imago, essentia, anima and substantia."
"It did, yeah, but it doesn't change how I feel about the place," you state before adding emphatically, "Fuck Cuthbert."
"So what are we even going to do here," Frank asks.
You shrug, "For right now? Get set up, try and better our knowledge, see how much of this place we can take over," you say rather flippantly, "This is all the lead up to the main event anyway."
"Even still, it's probably not good to go in half-cocked."
You dismiss his concern, "There's no 'going in half-cocked' about it right now," you state, "At the moment we're going to be concerned with getting some identities and figuring out who we can put this extra essentia in." You then smile a bit, one that means you've got wheels turning, "Or try to figure out a way of adding essentia. Give us extra ousiarchs."
"Right, I've been meaning to ask about that," Frank states before quickly adding, "The identities and partners. We've got a way into the college right now, you know."
"Melody," you say and Frank nods, "You think she'd be good?"
"She gives us a foothold," he states before hitting a realization, "She's organized, clever, good with languages... she'd make a good Kenandandran or Virtrilbian. A good home for you or Joe."
You laugh, "You think Joe would want to be Melody? Figure someone like him would want a better pair of tits if he had the choice."
"Honestly, he's so horny I don't think he really cares," Frank replies, "What about you? Would you have any problem being Melody?"
Yet another shrug, "I dunno. Probably not, there's worse places to be I guess," you state, "She's unassuming and quiet so she'd make a good place to look for potential other faces for you guys though. And actually having her mind combined with mine would probably help us a lot in the book. Like you said, she's clever."
So it goes and you figure that once you've got everything you need set up, you'll call Melody out here and in due time you'll no longer be Will Prescott physically but Melody Weiss. But a thought does hit you: you'd be Melody because being her would be a huge boon potentially in helping you get through the book. But Melody in general would be a huge boon whether you were her or had your anima running her. So do you really have to become Melody Weiss? Or would you be better off giving her your anima and bringing her in as one of your partners? indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
