There are a number of bands that come out of Eastman, and Yumi even knows of a couple at Keyserling. But it's best to concentrate on someone who operates out of Westside. The three candidates there are Slow Fast Hazel, Lady Steel, and Tiger Driver.
Slow Fast Hazel is probably the most popular of the three; at least, it's the one that you hear talked of the best. It has a hipstery, indie rock/dream pop thing going. Lady Steel is also well thought of, though it strives for a more straightforward, hardcore punk sound. (Some people complain it's too derivative of Dead Kennedys and Black Flag.)
The main problem with the first two groups is that they have only a very loose connection to Westside. Jelena Petrovic of Slow Fast Hazel and Sienna Goldman of Lady Steel are the only two members who actually attend your school; the other members of both bands are either college students or go to Eastman High. There's nothing wrong with Jelena or Sienna -- they're both attractive; and, frankly, both seem more like the kind of girl who'd get entangled with Gary Chen -- but if you're going to deploy three masks, maybe you should pick a band with a firmer presence inside the school.
That would point toward either Tiger Driver or Los Scorchicos, all of whose members attend Westside.
There are two problems there. The kids in both bands all underclassmen (you're not sure, but you think a couple of them are even sophomores) and that could make it hard to keep in touch with Chelsea, unless you set up a third face that could link your new face to Chen or to Yumi.
The more serious problem is that neither band has a good reputation, at the senior level, at least. Tiger Driver is very amateurish, and Los Scorchicos has a very light pop sound and not a lot of range or variety. But maybe that's what the underclassmen these days like.
There might be a third possibility, though. You've heard talk about a guy in your class, Ian Patton, who's pretty talented, and you've heard that lots of people would like to form a band around him. But apparently he prefers to forge a solo career.

Chen picks you up in his Jeep the next morning—you have a feeling that's going to turn into a thing with him and Yumi—and on the drive to school is when you give him your choice.
