Frank viciously aimed the remote at his ex, through the windscreen, and then aimed at the dog, which the old man was walking behind.

Just before frank pushed the button again to confirm the dog as the 2nd swap-pee, john grabbed the remote and held on, saying,

"Wait a moment you said if I wasn't holding this thing when you pushed the button then I wouldn't realise that anything was different when you pushed it again. So I would then think that you previously went out with a dog bodied woman... ewe!"

"Okay, I'm ready now!" john said.

Frank was annoyed at the interruption and so he just pushed the button without looking exactly where it was aiming. It was actually aiming at the passenger side door mirror and therefore one of them inside the car was the target.

Who does the remote swap with Frank's Ex?

Frank himself is now the target! Or

John, because he was still leaning over grasping the remote!
