Chad had a really hard practice today. He had sweated and toughed out quite a hard workout, and boy was he thirsty. He had already gone through a whole gallon of water, and his stomach felt kind of bloated. On his way home, he came across a man pushing a small cart down the sidewalk. Going over to it, the man stopped to show his wears.
"Hello young man. Might I help you with anything?" asked the man.
"Yes, do you have anything to drink? I'm so thirsty." said Chad.
"That I do actually." he replied, pulling out a simple water bottle filled with the cool liquid. "This water bottle will never run out of water, no matter how much you drink."
"I'll take it." said Chad, without really thinking what that implied. The man named a price and he quickly paid for it.
Opening the bottle right there, Chad took a very long drink, which would have normally drained the bottle. But when he put the cap back on, it was like he had never taken a drink. Still not quite understanding, Chad went home.
However, long before he got there, Chad got thirsty again, and then again, and a third time. Each time he thought he would drink the bottle dry, but it never emptied. He was too tired to care that it didn't.
When he got home, he immediately went to his room and took off his sweaty shirt and laid down for a quick nap. When he woke up, he felt like his mouth was made of sand and opened the bottle again and drank his fill, easily a gallon or more water. Looking down, his normally tightly muscled stomach had a paunch to it. Lifting it up, he felt the water in his stomach churn around, which felt rather odd. He didn't have long to ponder this as he was hit again with thirst, but drank even more this time. By the time he stopped, his stomach was bloated with water, yet it didn't feel 'tight' or anything...it felt...normal actually.
Only now did Chad really understand that the bottle really did never run out of water. However, what the man hadn't told him, was that the more one drank from that bottle, the thirstier one became.
