This choice: Legend of the Fat Master • Go Back...Chapter #6Legend of the Fat Master by: Unknown "Um, Chie, what are you doing?" asked Yukiko as she spotted her friend by the riverbed on her way home.
"Hold on Yukiko," she said as she tried to balance on one foot. "Okay, one, two," she took a deep breath and swung her foot at a tree. "Three!" she shouted right before it smacked into the trunk. The tree shook, but so did her leg as she struggled to not shout out in pain.
"Are you okay Chie?" cried Yukiko as she ran up to her friend.
Chie bit her lip as her eyes started to water. "Um, yeah, never better. You wouldn't happen to have a wheelchair on you, would you?"
Several minutes later Yukiko had helped Chie make her way to Junes where she was resting her leg on a bench. "You can't keep trying stunts like this Chie, you're going to break every bone in your body one day."
"Gee thanks mom," said Chie as she rolled her eyes. Yukiko frowned at her and poked Chie's foot, sending a sharp pain through her body. "Okay, okay," she shouted, "I know, I know I should stop. It's just, well I saw this movie last night and..."
"Oh Chie, not this again," said Yukiko with a sigh. "I keep telling you, that stuff is special effects. Nobody can do all those flips and kicks and stuff, you've got to... Oh is that the time," she said noticing the clock on the wall, "I, I forgot I'm suppose to be helping out at the Inn in fifteen minutes. I'm sorry Chie, I have to go. Can you get home okay or should I call somebody?"
"What, nah, I can totally handle this," she said as she tried to hide the excruciating pain she was in. Yukiko was gullible enough to believe her and bid her friend goodbye. Chie sat there on the bench until she felt strong enough to stand. She limped her way out of the mall, but before she got to the exit she noticed her favorite DVD store and even though she had just been scolded by Yukiko for taking her movies too seriously, she couldn't resist the urge to check out if anything new had come in.
She wondered around the store for almost an hour, and even though she saw several movies that she wanted, they were all too expensive. She was about to leave when she noticed a bargain bin where all the films were dirt cheap. She didn't expect to find anything good, but she really needed her kung-fu fix. However there was only one action film in the entire bin.
"Legend of the Fat Master?" she uttered while looking the box over. On the cover there was an obese black haired woman, almost four hundred pounds, wearing a skin tight yellow jumpsuit. "This can't be real."
"Oh you had better not be bad talking the Fat Master," said the twenty something shaggy sales clerk. "That movie is the bomb."
"You're kidding?" she said with a cocked eyebrow.
"Oh I kid you not," he said as he went into a mini-geek fest, "it was shot with almost no budget, relying almost solely on the star's abilities. You don't see stuff like that anymore."
"If it's that great then why is it in the bargain bin?"
"Meh," he said with a shrug, "nobody respects art anymore. Well, that and people kind of frown on overweight action heroes. Now are you going to buy it or not?"
Chie looked the box over once again, and even though she doubted how good it could be, she really did need a new movie. She bought the movie and rushed home (as quickly as she could on her busted leg) and plopped herself down in front of her TV. The movie's plot was fairly basic, a local noodle shop owner has her shop destroyed by a gang of ruffians and she decides to use her unique martial arts skills to fight back. There was only one twist, she was incredibly fat, which lead her opponents to always underestimate her. Chie's eyes lit up as she watched the action unfold, she had never seen anything like it. Even thought the heroine was overweight, she used it to her advantage. She rolled over her opponents, jumped off of high buildings and bounced off her stomach to safety, and plowed into her opponents with her custom belly punch attack. Not to mention, she had the same love of steaks that Chie had.
"She is so awesome," shouted Chie as the credits started to roll. "And the guy at the store said that this was all real, no special effects. Does that, does that mean that I could do stuff like that if I tried." Chie knew that gaining all that weight might not be a good idea, but it was like she always said, don't think, feel. "I'm doing it, I am so doing this," she passionatly declared. The only question was how should she go about it? indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
