This choice: The employee clutching a plate of fried Malasadas... • Go Back...Chapter #29A potential festival? by: Reneg4de Even before she reached the door, she knew what was waiting for her on the other side. Picking her lips hungrily, Lillie yanked the door open and found herself staring at a plate piled high with still steaming Malasadas.
"About time!" She said, grabbing the plate. "Where'd these come from, Kanto? Hoenn?"
The Employee opened his mouth to answer, but was quickly cut off.
"You know what? I don't care. Dismissed, or whatever".
Slamming the door shut in his face, Lillie waited until his footsteps had retreated down the corridor before letting out a squeal of happiness. Jogging towards her chair, Lillie collapsed into it and wasted no time in forcing an entire malasada into her mouth.
"Mmm... Sho gud..."
Swallowing greedily, Lillie grabbed a second one and devoured it just as quickly as the first. Going back for a third, she finally decided to slow down. Rather than one big bite, she finished it off in two slightly smaller ones.
For the next ten minutes, Lillie gradually munched her way through the pile of malasadas, pausing occasionally to stifle a burp behind her hand. As she ate, she kept her eyes locked to the TV, which was showing some sort of program detailing the four Alolan Islands.
"Huh... That looks quite fun".
Lillie paused, half a malasada clutched in her hand, as what appeared to be a massive festival appeared on-screen. Various pictures of tourists clutching balloons and having fun in general were shown, but that wasn't what caught Lillie's eye.
What did was the vast amount of food shown. Having spent her entire life on Aether Paradise, she had had access to the best foods, but they were all rather generic. Malasadas were about as foreign as it got and, while they were delicious, Lillie wanted something new. And from the looks of it, that festival was that something.
Quickly ramming the remaining malasadas into her mouth, she wiped crumbs and grease from her mouth with the back of her hand, stifled another burp and raced towards her door. Partway there, however, she was forced to stop as her stuffed belly groaned in protest at the sudden increase in speed. Gently rubbing its rock hard surface, Lillie reluctantly slowed to a walk.
"I wonder if Mother would let me visit?" Lillie pondered as she left her room and headed towards the Preservation Area on the top floor. "I know she's rather protective of me, but she never says no to any request I have. Let's just hope that continues..."
=====
Arriving in the Preservation Area, Lillie stepped off the elevator and glanced around. Her mother liked to frequent the area, stating that she loved taking care of the various Pokemon that had been rescued. While she was likely here, Lillie hadn't a clue where as the third floor was gargantuan.
Deciding to just walk until she stumbled upon her mother, she headed off towards the Grimer Pen. Finding no one there except Grimer, she started towards the nearby pond but paused as she heard voices nearby.
"...I understand that, Wicke. I just don't agree with it. I take great pride in our Grimer. I will not just allow them to send them off to who knows where!"
"They were quite adamant about it. I don't know how long I can hold them off, Madam President. Perhaps if you speak to them?"
"I suppose there's nothing else I can do... Set up a meeting with them. This coming Wednesday, if possible".
"Of course, Madam President".
Rounding a corner, Lillie caught sight of a purple haired woman bustling off towards the elevator. A tall woman with golden hair watched her go.
"Mother!"
The tall woman spun on one of her heels, a massive smile spreading across her face.
"My darling Lillie! How are you today?"
Lillie and her mother hugged for a second before Lillie pulled away.
"I'm fine, Mother. And you?"
"Ah, just busy. More and more Grimer are causing trouble for Alola, but rather than send them to me, they're trying to ship them off elsewhere. But I'm sure you aren't here to listen to my issues... What can I do for you, sweetie?"
Taking a deep breath, Lillie launched into an explanation about the festival on one of the Alolan Islands, how they looked to be tons of fun and about the exotic delicacies available there. By the time she was finished, her round face was flushed red from speaking so quickly.
Her mother was silent, probably pondering on how to answer. After a minute, she finally said... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
