Chapter #6

The potion has negative consequences

"Does the prince need to drink the potion?" the captain asked.

"No, it merely needs to be applied topically," the scribe replied. "Though drinking it would make it more effective, Probably."

"You're not sure?" the captain asked.

"No, as I said, I do not know how the magics would interact. The potion can be drunk, which usually makes it more powerful, but it doesn't need to be," the scribe replied. After all, what if a curse renders you unable to drink?"

"Fine, how much to use?" the captain asked.

"You can use the whole thing," the scribe replied. He handed the captain a small vial.

The captain took the vial, removed the stopper, and poured it over the transformed prince's head. It seemed to be absorbed into her as soon as it touched her body. Kelos stirred, but no changes seemed to occur. "Looks like it didn't work," the captain sighed. With that Kelos moaned and began to wake up.

"Oh, I must have fallen asleep," Kelos said. "How unbecoming."

"Are you alright, your highness?" the scribe asked.

"Of course, it was but a nap," she sat up in a ladylike manner. "Have we arrived at Castle Traevan yet?"

"Umm... Not yet, your highness," the captain replied, not sure what to make of Kelos' lack of reaction to her body and uncharacteristic speech and mannerisms.

"I suppose that is for the best, it wouldn't do to arrive while I'm asleep," Kelos replied. She looked at captain and scribe. "Is something the matter? You gentleman look quite confused."

"We were just wondering if you were okay," the scribe said.

"I must merely be exhausted from the trip," Kelos replied. She then looked down and saw her female body and the maid outfit. "Wha! I, but! My!" she blurted out as her face turned beat red. "I-I-I'm w-wearing... I'm wearing a m-maid outfit! What if Prince Fia were to see me?!! Where is my gown?!!"

"What is going on?" the captain asked in a whisper.

"It seems the potion has altered the prince's memories," the scribe whispered back. "The prince apparently believes she is a princess on the way to meet her future husband."

"What should we do?" the captain asked.

You have the following choices:

1. The scribe thinks they should play along for now.

*Pen*
2. The scribe thinks Kelos should know the truth.

*Pen* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
