Chapter #9

Plans Begin

Fakira knew that if she wanted to eat the human, she would have to do it at that time. The human would only be able to be shrunk for a certain amount of time and she wouldn't be able to shrink another human for a few hours. So, she had to grab the human right then and eat him so he wouldn't grow, but the fairy hesitated.

Fakira thought about the human's claim and studied the now tiny human just within reach if she were to reach for it. "This human is much younger than the others. He's been in her before, but he didn't hurt me," Fakira thought, "Besides, this human can use magic. What does that mean?"

"If you're not here to torture me, then what are you here for? And be quick or I shall eat you anyway," Fakira demanded, "I don't have troubles eating humans, and I really do want to try it. You humans are supposed to be very delicious."

"I meant no harm to you," Felix replied quickly knowing the fairy might not hesitate for too long, "My master just wants me to feed you, give you water, keep you alive."

"Why didn't you just set the food and water down? Why did you touch my shoulder?" Fakira questioned.

"I saw you crying," Felix explained, "You looked so sad. I couldn't just let you cry."

"Why's that?" Fakira asked. She couldn't understand why a human would be concerned with her feelings. Not only did she see humans as evil, now, but also, humans were a different species. She was a Felaryan and Felaryans saw the meaning of a person differently. For them, just because someone has intelligence, it didn't mean it was a person. For something to be a person to a Felaryan, it had to either be the same species or a race that is the size of a top predator and/or a species their species is friends with. Humans, however, saw a person as something with the same or greater intelligence which made Felix see the fairy as a human instead of a monster. Fakira didn't understand this.

"Because you were crying and you remind me of myself and others that are my friends," Felix replied. He didn't understand why it would be a hard concept to the fairy.

"How do I know you're not lying to me right now?" Fakira questioned.

"If you truly don't believe me and you have no doubts that I'm lying, then go a head and eat me," Felix told the fairy, "I approached you because you were sad and I wanted to comfort you. I knew you could shrink me and eat me, but I thought you would understand that I only meant to help you."

Felix closed his eyes tightly and tensed up as he waited for the fairy to respond. He thought he would feel her fingers wrapping around him again. Yet, nothing happened. Felix opened his eyes and saw the fairy just continuing to stare at him with suspicion. Fakira still didn't trust the human and she still didn't see it as a person, but Fakira knew it could use magic. "If it can use magic when I can't, it might be a way out. I might be able to convince it to help me escape. It might mean having to pretend to be its friend, but it could be an escape plan," Fakira concocted.

"Yes," Fakira could imagine her mother agreeing, "Then you can eat the human once your wings grow back. Or maybe if you should accidentally get a little attached to it, it could always be a pet or a 'slave' which he says he is."

Suddenly, Felix and all his clothes with him grew back to his normal size. "How much magic can you use?" Fakira questioned once Felix was back to normal.

"I don't know any spells other than the one I used on you. I only did it to save my life not to purposely give you harm," Felix tried explain.

"So, you really know nothing about magic," Fakira said.

"Why are you so interested all of the sudden?" Felix questioned.

"Listen human," Fakira said, "I'm going to teach you some magic. Just enough for you to free me from these chains and some other spells needed to defend yourself. Then, you are going to help me out of here and we're going to escape together."

"Is there a second option?" Felix questioned.

"I eat you," Fakira replied with another evil smile.

"However, if you do that, you don't have magic," Felix replied.

"Do you want me to eat you now, human?" Fakira questioned evilly.

"Alright, alright. I agree to your terms," Felix quickly replied. it was just what he wanted and just what he planned with Ted. "She's going to teach me magic and then Ted and I will be able to escape. I have to be careful how I go about this though. She'll have suspicions that I might not help her escape," Felix thought.

"So, you feeding me or what?" Fakira asked.
