Chapter #6Rise refuses. by: snapper After remembering the torture and suffering her Shadow had put her through, Rise decided that it was better off not trusting anything her Shadow had to say. Pushing the urges of power into the back of her head, Rise faced her Shadow.
"After what you did to me and my friends last time, you think I'll trust your lies? My answer is no, plain and simple." Rise said.
"Hmm, that's a shame, seems as though you have more restraint than I thought," her Shadow said, "but I'll be back with my offer soon, and by then, I'm sure that it will seem more... appealing to you. Until then."
With that, Shadow Rise's body started to shimmer with a dark aura and disappear.
"I don't need you! I can become stronger without you!" Rise shouted to the sky.
Rise didn't think that her Shadow would irritate her so much, but then again, it was a part of her so it knew what buttons to push, so to speak. Rise still couldn't shake off that urge to become more powerful that she felt after hearing her Shadow's offer. It's fine, she thought, I can go meet up with Chie later and start planning workouts with her to become stronger, I don't need my Shadow's tricks.
Speaking of her friends, Rise hadn't realized how far the gap had grown between her and the rest of them and started into a sprint to regroup with them. Little did she know, her Shadow had only teleported a short distance away and was observing her behind cover.
"Hmm, she thinks she doesn't need me to be stronger, how cute. I'll make her see the error of her ways. First, I'll need to show her how much she really wants power. Then, I'll show her how powerless she really is in her current state to protect her precious friends. By then, she'll be so desperate that she'll take the offer without a second thought. But how?" The shadow thought to herself.
A mischievous grin appeared on Shadow Rise's face as she got an idea.
"Who's up for a little competition?"
After sprinting uphill for what seemed like hours, Rise finally caught a glimpse of her friends. Rise stopped to catch her breath before realizing that her friends were looking at something. After her legs stopped feeling like they were burning, she walked over to their vantage point see what had caught the stares of her friends. Rise saw an enormous building that appeared to be twice the size of their school, Yasogami High!
"Woah, where did this come from?" said Yosuke.
"I'm not sure," said Teddie, "All this time in the TV world and I've never seen this place! What do you guys think, should we investigate?"
"Well, I'm down to explore! Who else wants to join?" said Kanji.
Yosuke, Chie, Yukiko, Teddie and Rise's heads all nodded to answer his question. Naoto, however, was uncertain.
"It seems like everyone but you wants to check out the place, Sempai. How come you don't want to?" said Rise.
"While I will admit that I am curious to investigate the area, you should all know by now that everything this world creates always has some sort of danger or mystery attached to it. As long as everyone's guard is kept up, I will join." said Naoto.
"Alright! C'mon guys, let's go!" Chie shouted.
With that, the group moved down from their vantage point and raced towards the building. Once they reached the entrance to the building, a small metal door, they could better examine the building's exterior. It looked very plain and unremarkable, almost harmless, but heeding Naoto's advice, they slowly opened the door, preparing themselves for any trouble awaiting them... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
