Parking in front of a nice house, you somehow knew to be yours; you get out of the car and head inside with your new daughter. "Honey, be a good girl and go get yourself cleaned up while mommy makes dinner," you tell the little girl, heading to the kitchen instantly. An hour later, as you are taking out the roast from the oven, you hear the front door open and see your husband walk in. Inside you wanted to scream and run, but it was as if you were nothing more than a passenger in this new life. Even so, you could feel every emotion as if it where your own, a mothers love for her daughter, love for a wives husband. You tried to fight it but soon realized there was no point and just went along.
A month went by and the woman’s life now felt as normal to you as breathing, it had reached a point where you weren't forced to act as the woman, but rather did it on your own. Early on you found out the Evelyn, the woman you had become, was a very girly woman, she dressed only in pastel colors, especially pink and seldom a pair of pants. Walking through the mall, the tap-tap of your heels, once an annoyance, now a comfort, reminded you of your feminity as you searched for a new dress for your daughter’s upcoming birthday.
Exiting a store where you had gotten a lot of the party decorations you bump into a girl by accident, "Oh excuse me dear, I didn't see you there,” you exclaim. The girl was dressed in black and purple clothes, piercing all over her pale face, "watch where you're going lady, that's what eyes are for f-y-i," she retorts. Walking away rapidly you think to yourself, 'what a miserable child, she is not going to amount to anything with that attitude.'
