'Well, I guess that does seem pretty mean of her.' Cathy says, much to your relief. And Anthony's to, by the look on his face. 'You can stay here tonight but tomorrow you have to go home.' She says. Anthony nods, quietly.
'Awww, we could have had a perfectly good little toy for the day Cathy.' Ann says with a puppy dog face. Cathy giggles.
'I'm sure you could find somebody else to fill that role.'
'I guess.' Ann replies.
'Come on Anth.' You say to your friend, wanting to get away from these two women before Ann convinces your step mom to change her mind. 'Lets go play video games.'
You were going to go to the mall but you figure you can do that later - Anthony looked a little shaken from coming so close to being a foot pet. You walk from the kitchen and your friend follows behind.
In your bedroom you boot up the console and had your friend the remote. You notice his hand is shaking a little as you take a seat on the bed nex to him with a remote of your own.
'Sorry about that.' You say to him.
'Its okay.' He says.
'Not really.' you reply. 'They were considering making you one of their foot toys. That wouldn't have been good.'
Anthony doesn't say anything for a little while, then looks at you.
'Can I tell you something?' He asks quietly, looking serious.
'What?' You ask.
'I actually half wanted to know what it would be like.' he says, going red.
'What?' You asked, not sure you heard him right.
'I know its weird, but I've always wondered.' He tells you. It was weird, you agreed with that, but that was because you had the same thoughts, and it was weird someone else would thing them too. Especially your best friend.
'Me too.' You eventually say.
'Really?!' He asks.
'Yeah, but I've always been too frightened to tell anyone.'
You both sit in silence for a little while, ignoring the beeping games machine.
'Do you think they would play with us if we asked. I don't mean be nasty, or torture us. Just, maybe, paly with us?' Anthony asked.
'I don't know.' You say truthfully. 'I don't think they'd have a problem making us little, or turning us into a shoe or sock or something. But I;ve never seen them play nicely with one of their toys before.'
'Do you think its worth asking anyway?'
'I don't know.' You say, with doubt. 'That could easily go wrong, my step mom could think its weird for asking and punish us. Then what?'
'I dunno.' Anthony shrugs. 'Why don't you ask one of your sisters to shrink us then?'
'They can't shrink me, mom has banned it.' You say.
'They could shrink me though.' He says.
'But I doubt they'd be very nice.'
'They might be. If you just asked them to shrink me, you could tell them to go easy and just have a bit of fun.' He says, his eyes filling with hope.
'I dunno.'
'Please.' He asks. 'Or we could just ask your mom, that way you would get to see what its like to.'
You think about it for a long time, with his constant pleading in your ear. He really wants to try it, which in turn is making your want stronger.
'Okay fine.' You say eventually, filling with equal parts excitrment and hesitance. 'We'll ask...'
