For some strange reason, Mariam's growth slowed down. In 3 months, she only grew 6 inches, making her 15'6" tall now. It wasn't long after that she realized why... She was pregnant.
This was great news for her, but she was worried that her child wouldn't be able to lead a normal life. Nevertheless, she would love it with all of her heart, and Peter seemed committed to be a father to the child. After a scan, which had to be done at the barn since she wouldn't fit in the hospital, they discovered that she would be having twins. A girl and a boy.
Oddly enough, despite Mariam's stature, the babies seemed to be growing to be normal sized. This meant that Mariam would not appear pregnant, even at 9 months. It would be little more than early pregnancy tummy for normal women. She would still exhibit other signs of pregnancy, like mood swings, morning sickness and weird cravings. All else appeared normal.
The day finally arrived when Mariam gave birth. It was beautiful event, filled with love and joy. Since the babies were very small (compared to Mariam), the birth wasn't as painful as a normal woman's birth.
After the babies were checked on and confirmed that all was well, Mariam finally had a chance to hold her children. In her case, she could comfortably hold a baby in each hand like it was a small rabbit. This frightened Mariam very much, as she was afraid that she would hurt her children. She pleaded with Zeinab to help take care of her children. Zeinab, although very tall, was more "normal" compared to Mariam, and could therefore do things more gently than Mariam could.
With no other commitments, Zeinab agreed. So the twins, named Gemma & John, had one father and two mothers. Gemma was slightly bigger than John.
It soon became very clear that Mariam's prodigious growth was now hereditary, since Gemma seemed to be growing slightly faster than John...
