"I'm sorry Ike, I simply can't do that. I'm already quite a bit behind as it is, I don't think I can make any detours."
Ike looked up hopelessly at Geoffrey. "You can't leave me Geoffrey. Who knows that's out there!"
The paladin sighed once more and looked down at the tiny man in his hand. "I'm not leaving you here Ike. I'm taking you to the castle. We'll figure out what we can do once we're there. At the very least, I can leave you with someone you trust."
With that he continued walking, holding Ike carefully in his handm the tiny ranger making disgruntled and disapproving faces. The trip in itself was quiet and the two seemed to avoid conversation. Perhaps it was the strangeness of the situation, or maybe due to just how late Geoffrey really was.
Eventually Ike felt the giant stop and he stood up, peering around from his point high above the ground. It seemed he hadn't been paying too much attention to his surroundings (Ike had almost dozed off) because he found that he was in an unfamiliar room, decorated mostly with tables and a few benches.
"Geoffrey?" He looked up at the giant. "Where are we?"
"It's one of the waiting rooms of the castle. I'm afraid I have some important business to attend to, so I'll have to leave you here for a bit."
Before Ike could object Geoffrey lowered him onto a table and gently nudged him off his hand. "I'll be back in a bit ok. Don't go anywhere."
"As if I had a choice..." Ike muttered and watched Geoffrey leave, finding himself alone again. Several things raced through his mind. His group might have been looking for him, or maybe they weren't. Either way Ike wasn't sure he had the capacity to be concerned about them at the moment.
