"Why...why isn't it working..." she asked worried.
"I...I don't know. Maybe something happened, check the note with the rules."
Alexis then ran over to the box and pulled out the sheet of paper. "Um...there could be a lot of reasons. If it's broken....if you're under a stronger curse...it says that for any problems to contact the mall. Looks like we're going over there."
You then got up out of bed and got ready. You had to borrow some of Alexis' clothes since yours didn't fit right anymore. You both walked over to the mall to the store where you bought the necklace. The mall seemed a lot busier than it did yesterday. You talked about the situation with the employee and she said that you should go to the main office. You were both then guided to the owner's office where you sat down for a few minutes until he finally arrived.
"Hi there," he said shaking both of your hands. "I heard you have a situation with one of our items." You then explained to him everything that happened, including the night in your bed. You felt like if you left anything out then he wouldn't be able to help you.
"Oh, the Emerald of the Gendered Body. We haven't had a problem with it before." He took the necklace and examined it. "It doesn't seem to be broken. The only other explanation would be..."
"What is it?" Alexis asked. The man then took out a small item. It looked so weird that you couldn't even describe it. He pointed it straight at you and it started glowing a bright orange. He then put it away with a saddened look on his face. "I'd hate to be the one to tell the both of you this, but....you're pregnant. The reason why the necklace won't change you back is because it won't allow you to use it in order to destroy the baby."
Thoughts ran through both of your heads. Abortion was out of the question, you wouldn't allow it. But what else do you do? Do you really have to explain to your families and friends that you're now a woman and having a child. The owner knew what you were thinking and decided to help. He went through his desk again and pulled out a silver watch.
"I may have a solution. This watch is very powerful. It can speed up the process of anything. If set up right, it'll turn one month of your pregnancy into a day. You don't have to do this if you don't want to, but I think this is the best option. Nine days is better than waiting nine months."
You both instantly agreed to the decision and the boss then set up the watch to the correct setting. You couldn't even believe what has happened so far. A magical necklace turned you both into the opposite gender, leaving only you trapped in this body. You find out your pregnant, and will be having the baby in nine days...
