This choice: Frank looks for something he could use as armor (Pads, helmets, and so on) • Go Back... Frank already had a weapon and could worry about getting supplies later, right now he wanted to get some protection so he wouldn't be helpless if one of these things jumped him. He walked to the back and began looking at the different types of padding the store had. He managed to find pads to cover his shoulders, torso, elbows, and knees, a football helmet for his head, and even put on a sports cup (he wasn't willing to leave anything vulnerable if he could help it). After making sure everything was on right he walked over to a mirror to see how bad he looked. "Well, it makes me look like an idiotic sports mascot, but at least it'll help keep me in one piece." He walked back towards the front when something crashed through the window and knocked him to the ground. It was an animalistic Stalker who had found a live human, possibly the last one in the whole city. Frank's gun had been knocked out of his hand and sent flying across the store when the thing jumped him, it would be of no help now. Frank sat up on the floor as the Stalker made a second attempt to kill him with its razor-sharp claws. He had no time to react and took the blow full-force as the zombie ripped off his shoulder pad and knocked him into a nearby shelf. Frank felt dizzy from the blow and couldn't stand up right away. The Stalker growled as it raised its hand again for the final strike. Frank quickly grabbed something from the shelf he was backed up against and swung it at the Stalker just as it went for the kill. The aluminum baseball bat Frank had managed to grab caught the zombie on the side of the neck just as its outstretched hand made contact with Frank's other shoulder. The creature had managed to tear off Frank's other shoulder pad, but other than that he was okay. He stood up as the Stalker laid twitching on the floor and finished it off with one last blow to the head. "I'm sorry..." Frank said as he walked over to an open box laying on the ground behind the front counter. Inside were a few posters, a duffel bag, and a note. Frank slung the duffel bag over his now bare shoulder and picked up the note. "Dear... Anyone." He read aloud. "If you are reading this get out of the mall, these goddamn monsters have overrun security and are growing in number. I don't know why they haven't just surrounded us and killed us yet, we're mostly unarmed and a few of us are injured. They must be planning something. We'll try to get out tomorrow night when Sam gets back. If this note is still in the sporting goods store where I left it our holdout location should be north-west up the escalator. The door next to the nearby toy store has a red circle on it, thats where we are. On the way there's a Re-supply trash can hidden behind the escalator. Inside are 2 handguns, a box of snack food, and a few pictures of... my daughter, Marie. If you see her, please bring her to us. We were seperated earlier and I can't leave without her. I've looked for her everywhere, I haven't found her yet, but... I KNOW she's still out there, she's smart, she wouldn't have died. I know you'll want to get out of here as soon as possible, but I beg of you, if you see my little girl please bring her back to me. I'll be waiting. - Mark" Frank silently put the note in his pocket and walked back outside. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
