A few years passed.
While Chef Firescale was saddened that John had dropped cooking from his curiculum, he was glad that his favorite pupal was back amongst the living, as it were.
He also knew why John stopped taking his class, the man couldn't cook because it reminded him too much about his dead and digested girlfriend.
However, John went for teaching classes, as well as philosophy and anatomy, as well as spending time talking to his fellow students, asking about any weaknesses that a person's race had, because he was planning to become a teacher and he wanted to know how to handle angry parents that didn't like him.
Also, while growing up with several hundred stepsiblings taught him how to fight in a brawl, he took the various martial arts and fighting classes that Harmony University had to offer, mastering boxing, karate, judo, and other forms of hand to claw to fang fighting. After all, his hometown of Splittooth was the most dangerous place for a human to live, and he wanted to be able to protect them.
After graduating at the top of his class, amazing concidering his turn around, he went back home.

As he walked into town, anyone who had known him a few years earlier saw that there was something different about him.
While he had gotten into trouble in school dozens of times for fighting with the students that tried to hunt the others, or tried to force others to have sex with them, he was always smiling, with a sort of cocky grin that said, "Try it, I dare you."
But now, his face said, "Mess with me at your own risk."
When one officer went to him to ask for his identification, John said, "Here's my identification," and forced him to look into his eyes, which were cold and hard.
Then he said, "If you and every other officer don't do your jobs, and protect the people that you are servents to, which is all of them, I will come after you, and send your souls to Hell. Now, get out of my way," and pushed the officer, a werewolf, away from him.
When the officer realized who the man was, he shuddered, as he had fought John before, back in the tenth grade, and lost. Now, there was a cold, burning, hatred in his eyes, where there was once some happiness.

As he walked to his parents' house, in his human form, he saw something that made him stop, what was it?
An old human woman that some younger people were bothering, and had caused to drop her groceries?

Someone molesting a child, who seemed to be less than ten years of age?
