"Alright son," you say. "It's a very simple interface, so you'll probably be able to figure it out without my instruction." You look down at the device and see that the battery is running low. "Oh, but hold on, I need to plug it in so the batteries don't die."

You return shortly to the room and plug the device in near Jeff's alarm clock and then hand it over to him.
