Stay at home and watch TV

“Can't we order in? I don't feel like going out.”, whined Wendy. In fact, this had been the case for the last week; she hadn't left the house since her parents had had their change of heart. She dunked her spoon into a huge bowl of chocolate cereal, and started on her second bottle of Coke. As she finished, her mother left the house for a trip to the supermarket and to McDonalds; as the door slammed, Wendy began to scramble up from the table over to a cupboard full of snacks. She grabbed a chubby armful down, and wandered over to the couch; its springs protested as she collapsed onto it, punching the TV on.
She wasn't really watching it, and was far more concerned with the food in her lap. She scooped Pringles out of a couple of tubes by her side, and grabbed handfuls of Smarties. Empty wrappers were thrown over the back of the couch; once she couldn't see them, she didn't care any more. This continued for twenty minutes, and she popped the last Pringle and began to massage her swelling belly; it gave a loud rumble as she patted it with a sticky, chocolate covered hand. She began to drift off to sleep.
