Chapter #5

Medli

With a groan, Link opened his eyes. His head ached, and he looked around in confusion, trying to remember what just happened. He remembered sailing the Great Sea in search of the two pearls following Din's Pearl, which he had obtained on Dragon Roost Island, and encountering a strange cyclone unlike any he'd seen before. It was different than those used by Cyclos, and though it worried him, he still had decided to sail into it. And it apparently didn't end well, considering how he blacked out upon entering it.

He continued looking around and examining his current location. Clearly, the cyclone had lifted him and his boat out of the ocean and dropped him somewhere on land, but where exactly? And come to think of it, the King of Red Lions was missing too... That was a bad sign.

But an even worse sign, as Link realized with a jolt, was that he had not just been transported... He had been shrunk too.

He finally recognized his current location as the ravine right before the entrance to Dragon Roost Cavern. He sat near the entrance of the ravine, amongst a cluster of bomb flowers, with a pool of lava between himself and the cavern itself. To the other side was a large pond. The cave itself was visible in the distance, set in the wall at the end of the ravine. He stood up, recognizing that the bomb flowers were way bigger than they should have been--in fact, they dwarfed him in size! He had shrunk to only a few inches tall, at his best estimate.

Link stood still, his hand on his chin as he glanced about and took in his current situation. Apparently that cyclone had both transported him and shrunk him down, and that was certainly not a good thing. Being at this size was dangerous, and with that in mind, he was determined to return to normal. But first, he had to figure out his next course of action. Crossing the lava was impossible at his size, and the edges of the pond were too high up to grab and pull himself up if he jumped into the water. For now, he was stuck.

Link paced around, wondering what to do... And began to hear flapping wings coming from the pond. Quickly, he ducked behind a bomb flower and peeked around the edge to see what was approaching. He was surprised to see a winged individual wearing a grey/blue dress flying over the pool. He recognized this individual as Medli, the stern yet kind Rito girl whom he had met and helped during his efforts to find Din's Pearl earlier. She flew over the pool, white feathers falling off every so often behind her, and landed at the pond's edge on Link's side, her scaly yellow bird like legs and feet touching down as her wings morphed into arms. She walked forward, focusing on the cave, and Link knew that she could possibly help him out. But, hesitantly, he also thought that she might end up hurting him, considering their significant size difference. Plus, he didn't know if she would even recognize him, or be kind to him.

And so, the question was... Should he reveal himself, or stay hidden behind a bomb flower and let Medli pass for now?

You have the following choices:

1. Link steps out from behind the flower and gets Medli's attention

*Pen*
2. Link stays hidden and lets Medli pass

*Pen* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
