Chapter #19Re-exploring Home by: Unknown As soon as they got home, Lilo ran to the elevator leading to her room and jumped into her bed, squealing into her pillow like a lovesick schoolgirl. She still couldn't believe she'd actually done what she did. Keoni was so flustered by her, it looked like he actually might LIKE like her now that she'd grown to a height closer to his own. 4 foot 4 was a lot better than her old tiny height. She briefly looked behind her and saw that her feet reached the end of her bed. Clearly, she was on the verge of outgrowing it, and she was only 7 years old! She kicked her feet excitedly and squealed into her pillow again. This was officially, without a doubt, the greatest day of her life. The only thing that even came close was the day she met Stitch.
She hoped with everything she was that she was nowhere near done growing.
Lilo's attention was grabbed by the sound of rapid footsteps scurrying up the elevator shaft. Stitch, no doubt. Sure enough, seconds later, her beloved alien friend appeared with a curious expression. "Ohufi!"
"Hey Stitch!" Lilo hopped off her bed, stumbling a moment when she reached the ground faster than she was used to. "That's gonna take some getting used to. Can you believe how big I've gotten?"
"Gaba ika tasoopa?"
"What's the big deal? The big deal is that I'm big! Mertle won't be able to make fun of me anymore, Keoni paid more attention to me than he ever has, and I won't have to try so hard to reach things anymore!"
"Aka tikuta."
"I know, you're bummed out because it didn't work out for you." Lilo patted Stitch's head. "But humans are supposed to grow, experiments need to be their regular size in order to do what they were designed to do. That's what Jumba said."
"Naga bootifa."
"Look, Short Stuff may not be as clumsy as you were when you were huge, but even he can't do what Jumba originally designed him to do anymore. We found him something he could do as a kaiju-sized monster that's totally unrelated to his original programming. But that doesn't mean I don't still love you."
"Ohhh..." Stitch groaned good-naturedly as Lilo wrapped him into a big hug. "Tay yuuga."
"I love you too Stitch." Lilo released the blue alien from her hug and took on an excited grin. "I wanna go exploring around the house, everything must look so different now that I'm big! Care to join me?"
"Ih!"
With that confirmation, the two best friends went back down the elevator and zipped around the house, checking out anything and everything. When Lilo went to the kitchen, she headed to the pantry and saw some cookies that Nani had placed on the shelf that was originally too tall for her. "Nani's been hiding snacks this whole time! No wonder she's not complaining about the healthy menu Pleakley keeps making." She eagerly grabbed the box and stuffed a few mini-cookies in her mouth...but then she spit them back out when she realized what kind they were. "Oatmeal raisin? Where's the chocolate?!" She reached into the box again and felt around, pulling out a piece of scrap paper that had something scribbled on it.
Nice try, Lilo.
"Touche big sister." Lilo grumbled while Stitch laughed at her misfortune. "Whatever, she probably has the really good stuff on the shelf above that one. It's only a matter of time before I get even bigger, then I'll be able to enjoy whatever she's got hidden from me."
"Gatchi nosty?"
"No, I'm not really sure if I'll keep growing. But I'm hoping I will! And the power of positive thinking can do amazing things!" Lilo and Stitch then moved on to the bathroom sink. There she saw the footstool she used to be able to reach it. Though she now had an easier time of it, she was disappointed to find out that she still needed the stool to comfortably reach everything, as well as see herself in the mirror. "Bummer. Guess I'm still too small."
"Quala chifa pi nolo."
"Why's everything in this house built for super tall people anyway? Didn't anyone consider the needs of the vertically challenged?" She glanced at Stitch for a moment. "The kind who can't climb on walls to reach whatever they need?" Just then the doorbell rang, and Lilo was instantly distracted from her moping. "I'll get it!" She ran to the door and opened it, and there she saw...   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
