How does vore factor in to the future?

Option 1: During the 1000 years between him being frozen and being unfrozen in the year 3000, Fry discovers that humanity, and all other species in the universe, have undergone a change that allows them to devour others whole.

Option 2: One or more of the crew from Planet Express undergoes a change, possibly from something on a delivery, possibly from one of the Professor's half-assed inventions, and starts to swallow people.
