It's been a full year since you were appointed as an Acolyte at the Temple of Surasuri. The townsfolk have come to trust you, despite your relative youth. The local village you were assigned to was a peaceful one, and your time has been spent giving advice, praying for a bountiful harvest, and cleaning the temple grounds. At least, until recently.
A hot summer wind has been blowing out of the south the past week, an unusual occurrence in this valley. The villagers, superstitious folk that they are, consider it an ill omen. Some of them have come to you with reports of seeming a ghostly figure of a young woman wandering the temple at night. You've tried to convince them that it's just a trick of the shadows, or their eyes playing tricks on them after spending too much time at the tavern.
But despite your efforts, rumors are starting to spread. Some whisper that the ghost was your predecessor generations ago, and she's not satisfied with your work. Others say the ghost was blown in on the southern wind, and has come to spread misfortune from whatever land she came from. Still more rumors claim that this ghost was locked away deep inside the temple, but the old charms are slowly losing their potency.
You've never been one to believe in ghosts or phantoms, despite taking a religious vocation. However, recent events have made even you unsure. You've been hearing strange noises at night: the sounds of someone walking in the temple, giggles, repeated whispers of something you can't make out. Combined with the sightings, it's gotten you spooked. And now you've decided to try and do something about it. As the defender of the Temple of Surasuri, it's your duty to protect it and the villagers from any bad spirits.
You've decided to try and communicate with this ghost, maybe even exorcise it. You decide to put on your ceremonial clothes, and stay awake tonight, and see what's really going on…
