"It was no problem really. I just couldn't leave her to get bullied like that" I answered sheepishly. This was the first time a group of people I didn't know were so nice to me. Melissa smiled at me.
"Well, we're very grateful for your help" she said, making me bluch more. Then, their mom spoke up.
"We should get going. Thanks again" said their mom with a grateful smile as she motioned for the girls and herself to get into the nearby car.
As I watched them get into the car, I felt this feeling that I wanted to go with them somehow. I wondered why I would be feeling such things. I didn't know these people that well, did I? I don't think so. Still, I felt like I had seen them before and wanted to be in their presence a bit longer. As these thoughts came to me, I felt myself getting riled up again. I dreaded these feelings. They always seemed to be connected to my common black outs. I couldn't really figure out what that conncection was, but there had to be something in the works.
Slowly, as I watched the car drive away with the family in it, I reached my hand outwards, a brief flicker of dust forming around my hand.
Then, I passed out right there.
*****Change*****
I opened my eyes slowly, feeling a sense of motion that indicated I was in the car right now. My head felt a little hazy, but that was solved when I heard someone call out to me. A very familiar voice.
