Once inside the club, I immediately made my way to the bar. Taking a seat, I spotted my reflection in the mirror. Turning to look at it, I saw that I was now an attractive 22 year old brunette wearing an attractive dress.
Seeing my reflection, I wondered how my twin sister would react if she ever saw me like this. I was brought back to reality when the bartender walked over. "What can I get you, beautiful?"
Turning to the bartender, I said, "I'll take a Samuel Adams and a turkey sandwich."
"You bet."
As the bartender left, I decided now would be a good time to see who I was in this reality. Digging through my purse, I found my ID. Looking at it, I saw that my name was now Kelly Thompson; and I was from San Francisco. It wasn't long before the bartender returned with my order; taking my payment as I took my food.
I'd just finished my sandwich, and was drinking my beer, when a guy walked over to me. "Is this seat taking?"
One of the things I had to get used to over the last 5 months was guys flirting with me; and not just when I was a girl. Looking at him, smiling, I said, "No, have a seat."
Sitting next to me, the guy said, "I'm Allen; what's your name?"
"Hi Allen." smiling, I said, "I'm Kelly."
"I've never seen you here before, Kelly; what brings you to Oregon?"
Allen didn't know it; but he's known me for almost 2 weeks now. The first time we met, I was a 23 year old pregnant woman at a grocery store; but most of the time I was either a guy or girl in their 20s. I bet you're wondering why I made myself a pregnant girl; the truth is, I just wanted to know what being pregnant felt like.
"Well, Allen." pausing, I said, "I'm just passing through; I've got a lot on my mind and I thought a little trip would be good for me."
"What's on your mind? Maybe it's something I can help you with?"
"You wouldn't believe me if I told you." sighing, I said, "My sister came home last week to find me making out with her boyfriend; she, uh, got angry and kicked me out."
"I see." taking his drink, Allen said, "If you don't mind my asking; why were you making out with her boyfriend?"
"It wasn't my idea; he started it and I wasn't in a condition to stop him."
"Did you tell your sister that?"
"I tried; but she wouldn't listen." sipping my beer, I said, "I'm traveling around hoping she calms down enough."
"I'm sure she's calm enough now, Kelly." looking at me, Allen said, "I'm sure she misses you."
Allen and I talked for a few hours, occasionally getting up to dance. By the time I decided it was time to leave, Allen had convinced me that I should go home. As we talked, I realized that I made a mistake when I ran away; I should've just told my family about my ability rather than hide it.
Smiling, as we walked out of the bar, I turned to Allen and said, "Thanks for listening, Allen; you're a sweet guy."
"No problem, Kelly." looking at me, Allen said, "I hope things work out with your sister."
