The two girls look at you, horrified as the possibility runs through their minds. "Would she actually do that?" asked Megan, suddenly worried. "I always thought Ms H was more kind than that."
"There would have to be a good reason for her to to something this crazy." mussed Mel, worried as well. "I'll look at the magic book, see what I can find." she turned to you. "Relax, John. This might be nothing more than a prank from mom but we'll help you, okay?"
You nodded, grateful that Mel and Megan were helping you. Unknown to you, however, as Mel was busy looking through the magic book, the door to Mel's room opened. "Megan, I need you for a moment." came her mom's hushed voice.
Megan walked over to the door but became horrified as she saw your mom instead. She opened her mouth to scream but mom pulled her out of the room and knocked her out with a wave of her hand before a sound could escape her lips. "I have plans for you, my dear." she whispered, quietly walking away with Megan.
"Blast this book!" cursed Mel in frustration. "It won't reveal anything beyond the first chapter!" she sighed. "I guess mom is not taking any chances with whatever she is up to."
You had been watching Mel the entire time and did not notice Megan being pulled out of the room but became confused when you found her missing. "Where's Megan?" you asked, startled.
Mel's face turned pale. "She was here a moment ago." she replied, confused.
She walked out of the room only to see Hayley back home. Mel opened her mouth to tell her what had happened only Hayley touched her forehead, rendering her unconscious. "Sorry, sis." whispered Hayley, watching Mel slump to the floor. "Mom and I can't allow you to interfere."
Now alone inside Mel's room, you began to feel nervous, not knowing Hayley was dragging Mel out of the house and wondered what to do. Only as you tried to get up you found...
