"Walk with us, son." Firmly but kindly, dad said. "We have much to discuss."
Although uncertain, I followed dad with mom at his side. I noticed many people who looked like humanoid wolves walking about, going about the day like any other people in any other city. It was not what I had expected of a pack of werewolves but I had always known that legends tended to exaggerate the truth.
"Werewolves, like humans, have evolved over the centuries." Calmly, dad explained. "They can control their transformations to a certain degree in the days before and after a full moon but they still lose their self control during the night of a full moon."
"The same is for berserkers." Calmly, mom said. "Our ancestors shipwrecked on the shores of this country generations ago where we became allies of the werewolves."
"We had a similar animalistic rage which formed a bond." Serious, dad said. "To the point, being berserker born, you are an unusually powerful werewolf, given we are the king and queen of the berserkers in this region."
"Be mindful that the werewolves frown upon using titles to get their way with the exception of King Lycan." Calmly, mom added. "Do not allow your royal status to get to your head."
Dad nodded. "The forest that surrounds Lupine was enchanted by the witch community help detour the curious and adventurous humans from entering too deep."
Mom smiled. "When I saw you enter the woods, I had as feeling you were going to have an interesting time."
"Do I have to live here now?" Curious, I asked.
"Only during the full moon season." Calmly, dad replied. "Other than that, you can live with us or in your small apartment."
"Or, we could all move here." Shrugging, mom added. "Werewolves are free to come and go as they please but there are a few rules you will need to follow."
"Such as..." Raising an eyebrow, I asked.
"You can not bring your friends here." Darkly, dad said. "Not until they gain the trust of the pack."
"Meaning you must be careful who you bring into the inner circle." Serious, mom said.
I gulped at that. "I have a lot of thinking to do."
