This choice: Skip to Catherine's first day at Jade River. • Go Back... The days went by slowly for poor Raven, who was forced to live with the name Catherine, but this was the least of her concerns. Her fellow students stopped at nothing to humiliate her. All the girls disliked her and all the boys poked fun at her, and all because of her humongous, shapely frame. She was forced to relive her nightmarish childhood once again, but all along she knew that the worst was yet to come.
The weekend finally arrived, and after a grueling long bus journey, Raven finally arrived at the Jade River Campsite. From the moment she stepped off the bus and gazed at the old wooden shelters, her horrific memories quickly emerged in her mind. Raven had faced many fearful obstacles in her career as an explorer, but they were nothing compared to what she was about to face.
Wearing a tight girl scout uniform, which would look cuter on any other skinnier girl of her age, Raven stumbled amongst the crowd of elementary school students towards their destination. The pushing and shoving of the crowd forced her into the campsite. As the crowd stopped, they were silenced by the presence of their superior, Tabitha Burns, who was in charge of the entire trip.
"Hello students," she announced proudly, "Welcome to Jade River! After I give you the grant tour, feel free to explore the environment. Who knows what you could find out in these woods!"
The tour of the campsite had become a routine in Raven's mind because she had lived it before, and this experience was no different to her previous experience. It was like she was mirroring her past actions, leading up to one of the most dramatic points of her cruel childhood.
The tour ended quickly, and everyone was freed from her attention. After a brief comfort chat to Tabitha, in an attempt to calm her nerves, Raven unwillingly traveled through the woods. At least trekking through the woods brought back some memories as an explorer, where she would trek through dark forests in search of lost and ancient artifacts, but unfortunately it seemed like those days were over, since the mysterious disappearance of her former partners. It was also noticeably much more difficult to trek through the woods, as she found it much more challenging and exhausting.
As sweat immediately broke from her forehead, and as fatigue quickly set in, Raven soon arrived besides the river. She sat besides the river and watched the flowing water, pondering on her current situation.
Little did she realize was that she was in fact being watched by sinister eyes. She may not have known it, but soon Raven was going to have an encounter that she wouldn't soon forget.
But what happened next? indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
