Adam unlike Isabel was a pretty skinny kid. In fact for a long time he used to not like fat girls but all that changed when he met Isabel. You see Adam had a crush on a girl named Jenny who was the prettiest girl at school and would always sit in front of him and every summer he would spot her swimming with her friends at the local pool and could see that she would pay attention to a boy named Jeff who was one of the best swimmers at school. Now Adam would have loved to jump in the pool and impressed her with his swimming skills but there was one problem with, that he did not know how to swim.
So for a long time he would ask his dad to get swimming lessons but his dad was a cheapskate so he would say no every timed he ask. But luckily for him his dad was friends with Isabel's dad John. So one night when they were hanging out Adam's dad mention how his son would kept pestering him for swimming lessons and John mention that his daughter was an excellent swimmer and could probably teach Adam how to swim for free which was good enough for him.
So on the first day of swimming lessons Adam was excited that he would finally learn how to swim and would show off to Jenny and she would finally pay attention to him and when he saw the large mansion he got hyped because he thought that his instructor would be an Olympic swimmer that could teach him all kinds of tricks and would definitely impressed Jenny. So when he got inside he immediately changed to his swimming trunks and went to the backyard to wait for his instructor and when finally met her he was both shocked and disappointed. Disappointed because his swimming instructor was obviously not an Olympic swimmer, shocked because she was the fattest kid he had ever seen.
So naturally he wasn't exactly thrilled that his instructor was this moving blob and was pretty pouting about it but in spite of that Isabel kept her kind and caring personally and taught him some basic swimming exercise and the more lessons they had the more Adam began like her and they started hanging out outside of swimming lessons. They would go see movies together, they would go riding bikes together(with Isabel riding a specialty model bike that could handle her weight) and would sometimes tag along with her when her family would go to an all you can eat buffet. In fact Adam enjoyed Isabel's company so much that he completely forgot the reason he wanted swimming lessons in the first place.
