Betty's body tensed up as it was hit with the blue lazer. "GNNAaAaAaAaAhHhHhH!!" she stammered. Her green eyes bugged out, her teeth chattering together. Her arms and legs flailed around rapidly. Every thought in Betty's brain was shocked out of her.
BAM!!
There was a huge burst of blue energy, then... nothing. There was nothing in the spot where Betty once stood, except for a pile of gray dust and a pair of white boots with smoke rising out of them. Betty had been reduced to ashes in a millisecond. The blinking skull and crossbones on the gun should've been enough to tell Betty it was a death ray.
The door flew open, the breeze from outside scattering Betty's disintegrated remains around the lab, never to be seen again.
"Captain? Captain, are you holding up alright?" X-5 came floating into the room. "Caaaptain?" The robot stopped when he reached the pair of smoking white boots. "Hmm, it's not like her to run around barefoot..." He floated along, calling out for Betty.
That's what happens when you play with dangerous toys!
