Chapter #7Link agrees to stay at Malon's place. by: DB7557   "Well I guess I can stay for a while... there's no saying if I would be as welcome in other villages, and I should learn what you and others already know about this place before trying to investigate what really happened."Link replied
Malon smiled, visibly happy with his answer
"Great! I will show you my place then!"She said, and once again led Link through the village, causing some more looks from the women there
Malon herself didn't seem to notice or care how much attention it all brought however, and instead all the way Link followed, it sounded like she was humming a familiar melody.
Malon's house was on the other end of the village, it was rather average size, similar to those of others, what made it different however was a small pen next to it with three horses inside. Link looked towards them.
"Heh, as you can see my experience from Lon Lon Ranch is useful even here! I'm thinking of building them a bigger pen though, it's bad for them to all be stuck with such little place to run around, and until they are all sufficiently tamed, I am a bit afraid they could get lost somewhere if I let them out... perhaps you could help me?"Malon said and looked at Link
"Well... I guess I should thank you somehow for letting me use your place."Said Link
"That's settled then! How about we do that tomorrow morning?"Asked Malon
"Okay, the faster the better for the horses."Link said
"By the way, by morning I meant around 8:00. I heard you can be almost as much of a sleepyhead as my father sometimes..."Said Malon
"8:00? I can wake up by then... somehow.... possibly..."Link said, realizing that probably tomorrow he won't be well rested in the morning...
"Well if you don't wake up by yourself, I can always borrow a cucco from Ajna and have it wake you up!"Said Malon and smiled playfully
"Maybe there won't be need for that..."Said Link, remembering how he once woke up Malon's father, Talon this way.
Finally Malon led Link inside her house. There were two floors, on the first one there were living room, bathroom and the kitchen. On the second one there were two rooms, one was Malon's, and the other was meant to be Link's from now on. To his surprise the house had all the needed furniture to be somehow comfortable...
"Was all the furniture already there when you found the village?"Asked Link
"Most of it was, some in pretty bad shape, but luckily there happened to be a few carpenters in our group so they fixed them up for everyone, as well as made new whenever it was necessary."
Link nodded, but still it seemed weird... why would people who initially built the village just leave everything like that?
Finally Malon showed Link his room. It was pretty standard, a bed with nightstand next to it, and a small chest for keeping clothes and belongings.
"It is pretty basic... but definitely beats sleeping on the ground!"Said Malon and entered inside as Link followed
She then sat on soon-to-be-Link's bed for a moment
"Hm, sorry for suddenly sitting on your new bed like that, but I am constantly on my feet pretty much since morning, it feels nice to sit down for a moment."Said Malon
Link couldn't stop himself from taking another look at her cute feet... perhaps he could offer her a massage to ease their soreness?   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
