Chapter #21

Cyril to the rescue. Sort of.

    by: Drakin Author IconMail Icon
"Sweet Ancestors. Again? Ignitus this can't go on."

Dimitri stared up at the figure of Cyril, trying to take in what he was seeing.

To put some perspective on the young dragons thought process, although he'd yet to have Cyril's class for the day he'd seen the ice guardian just the day before. And while he too had been affected by the cafeteria food he still had some semblance of his old strong and streamlined form hidden by a moderate layer of pudge.

As he stood before Dimitri now however the blue guardians belly hung all the way to the floor and squished between his legs. His blue scaled sides billowed out around them to the point they actually smushed into his girth. His back humped up slightly increasing folds around the joints of his wings and his expanded chest puffed out like a pigeons under at least three pumpkin thick rolls of neck fat.

So naturally Dimitri's mind was, to put it ironically, out to lunch...

"Cyril? Is that you?" Ignitus voice called from over his enormous rear end, which Dimitri realized with some shock came all the way up to Cyril's chin.

"Yes, it's me," the blue dragon sighed, his cheeks wobbling in the process, "You've really wedged yourself good this time haven't you? I told you not to use the East gate, it's far too small."

"It's the most direct route between the library and the kitchen though," Ignitus muttered somewhere between irritated and a little whiny, something Dimitri never though he'd hear, "Come on, just get me out of here. Ash isn't back yet and I'm going to miss tea time."

"Oh sweet ancestors forbid you miss your customary cup of tea and cookies... and pastries, and maybe a pie or three..." Cyril snarked.

"You're one to talk, Mr.Three-cakes-is-hardly-as-calorie-rich-as-five-cakes," Ignitus grumped back, "Now are you going to help or not?"

"It's a difficult decision certainly," Cyril smirked playfully but in the end agreed to assist Ignitus in working free. Although even with his great strength working the massive mounds of the fire guardians rear only a few more feet were pushed through before he had to pause to catch his breath.

Dimitri who'd been assisting was likewise spent as he looked between the two. You know," he muttered between gasps, "This is all Jake's doing. Ever since he took over the kitchen..."

"Now stop it," Cyril admonished gently, "Really Dimitri, jealousy does not become you. Jake is doing a fine job. I've never seen the students so happy to go to lunch."

"But everyone gets five and six servings of everything," Dimitri protested, "Doesn't that seem weird?"

"Growing dragons need lots of good food," Cyril replied as if he were reading from a text book.

"Too bad they're growing wider, not taller," Dimitri muttered, knowing both guardians would just ignore the comment. Somehow the blind spot to the dragons gains refused to budge, keeping Jake's position as head chef intact. Dimitri was certain it had to be a spell of some kind, but without the guardians help he had no way to test for it.

With still no sign of Ash Cyril had to resort to a technique that Ignitus greatly disliked. Using his ice power Cyril turned the door frame freezing cold with a layer of ice between the red dragons scales and the stone. As it quickly melted the slipper water helped to push the fat dragon butt the rest of the way through, though Ignitus grumbled the whole time about the cold.

Dimitri barely had time to take in the full size of Ignitus (which was very much pear shaped like himself) before the bells rang signalling...

Choice 1: Time for the next class, Dimitri waddled with Cyril to it, taking in the sights of all the other expanded students on the way.

Choice 2: Time for Lunch. A veritable rumble is heard through the school as every dragon who has lunch that hour (including Dimitri) hustles to the cafeteria to gorge.

Choice 3: The end of the day? Dimitri hasn't had his class with Cyril yet though and Ignitus explains they're cutting School days in have to go easier on Students. Cyril and Volteer teach one day, Terridor and Ignitus the next and so on switching off every other day.
